The 5th gen Front Brake kit is the one that uses the Z32 calipers and 2004 Maxima rotor...
It comes with the bracket, hardware, and lines..

the 5th gen Relocation kit is a relocation bracket (and mounting hardware) to mount the factory 2000-2001 calipers over the 2004 Max Rotor.

you can see pics and more info on my website if you click on the brakes link on the front page. It will take you a page of my brake stuff and you can see the details there.

The rotors are $179 shipped from IRotors.com for slotted, drilled, or both... you can get the blank rotors for $159 shipped from them, OR you can get some 2004 Maxima OEM rotors from the dealer for $180-230 depending on dealer and discounts..

It's easiest to just send you to them for the rotors and I sell you the rest of the toys.. I haven't had a chance to set up any commercial/vendor accounts with places to stock pads and rotors for myself yet.

Soooo, the price for the Front kit from me is $180 + 10 shipping, the rotors are $179 shipped, then all you need are calipers, pads, and fluid...

For the rear kits, it's basically the same deal but the price is $800 + 20 shipping for front and rear.

hey matt, i'm interested in your stage II lower tie bar, but was curious to how much of a difference you'd think i'd feel while right now i have a fstb, rsb, progress springs and tokico illuminas, i'm sure it still makes some kind of a difference but i'd like your opinion.

Do the grounding kits come with directions as to where to attach the wires? I want a kit for my 2000 SE, and I'm hoping to install myself (and do it right). Thanks!! Also, if I order a stage 1 lower tie bar at the same time, is there any discount possible? LMK.

STage II lower tie bar..
the effects are similar to a FSTB, only about three times more pronounced.. that's the best way I can describe it. the more suspension mods you have elsewhere, the more you're going to notice the differences. Yet it's still noticeable on a stock suspension.

turbo_gg, yes, I will send a link to instructions when I ship the kit. for a 5th gen, plan 30 min to an hour for the install. you have to remove the intake housing to run the wires, but it still only takes basic hand tools.
I don't currently have any Stage I bars in stock as I don't sell many of them. I'll be glad to make you one and paint it with enamel, but I don't have a way to get it powdercoated anytime soon. it won't fit in my oven and my shop charges a $100 minimum- which is obviously more than the bar itself!

slimer, choices on ground kits are all of the ones in this pic, plus solid black for a sealth look:
http://www.mattblehm.com/HSS_images/wire_assortment.jpg

MaximaPower, I'm in Pearland. If you want to save $5, give me a 1 day notice and I'll have one made up and you can pick it up here. Honestly, it's easier to pay the extra $5 and I can mail it to you, but if you want to come by I certainly won't say no. PM or email me for directions.

For OEM parts?
I use Tom Peacock on the north side of Houston.
I have a buddy up there that takes care of the Houston Nissan Enthusiasts and the Z Club of Houston.. and I just happen to be a member of both.
281-231-4365. Ask for Ken Sanders. Tell him I sent you.

I also recommend Dave Burnette at Southpoint Nissan in Austin. 512-444-4962.

I have dealt with Courtesy Nissan for years, but recently they pi$$ed me off and I'm boycotting them.

[Unrelated rant mode] Last month I was swapping an engine in my 240 and ordered new engine & tranny seals and water pump two weeks before the job.. After half a dozen calls informing them I NEEDED them that weekend and to do whatever necessary to make sure it got here- even if next day air was required, the parts showed up 3 days after the job was done. I had to drive 3 hours across town in heavy Saturday traffic (houston SUCKS on a Sat!!!) and pick up all the parts at Tom Peacock.

Thus I'm boycotting Courtesy for a few months.. Considering I spend about $1000/month on OEM parts, I figure it at least puts a small dent in their pocket and they will continue losing customers like me if they don't pull their heads out of their ***** and get their shipping department together.

Matt, do I really need the Stage 1 LTB, or is the Stage 2 going to be the best choice (just by itself)? I'm ready to order the grounding kit in black for my 2000 SE, and need to know which LTB stage to get. Thanks.

Justin, you gots PM..

PoLo, you lose about 3/4-1" of clearance under the crossmember right between the wheels. that's the lowest point on the bar, which after looking is about the same height as the catalytic convertor on a 5th gen. So you should be okay if you're not scraping up your exhaust/cat. Shipping for the LTB will be $15 for you.

Stage 1 or Stage 2?

Hey Matt, I was just wondering what you thought about this one. I got a front strut bar, rear sway bar, and S'Tech's on my '00 SE. Would it be really noticable if I went with a stage 1 as compared to a stage 2, even with stock struts? I'll be totally honest, I don't drive too hard, but I wouldn't mind a little better steering response. Also, if I was to go Stage 1, can I get a bar that is unfinished( powder coated ). I was planning on painting it myself. And lastly, what's an approximate cost on shipping to Hawaii (96797). Thanks, Brandon

The stage II is definitely an improvement over the Stage I, but I would first HIGHLY recommend some aftermarket struts. the OEM struts on aftermarket springs are seriously underdamped and the ride sucks big donkey ballz. (have a friend locally with eibachs and stock struts on his 5th gen and it's worse than a honda on $69 ebay "coilovers")

Shipping for the ST I will be about $15 through USPS, and $30 or so for the ST II.
LMK!

Grounding Kit

Matt,

Does your grounding kit do anything for the tranny? I've heard good things in other threads about better grounding for the auto really helping out the smoothness shifts, does your kit take care of this?

Thanks,
-Ben

I noticed better shifting and passing gear kickdown comes faster when you flick the throttle.. The big thing I noticed is that it helps get rid of the "stuck in 3rd gear" problems when you slow for a stop sign or corner and don't come to a complete stop. it will kick down into 1st much much easier when leaving the corner in those cases.

Thanks for the response. That was my main concern. I want to replace my stock struts with Illuminas, but was debating if I should go LTB first or after. Thanks again. You can tell Matt is a " straight up" kind of guy. I can appreciate that!

for Matt's Stage II LTB. I love it even though mine is technically not installed correctly (call me a guinea pig). You will have no clearance problems unless you drive over a deer in the middle of the road or you routinely drive on gravel/dirt roads.

The only time my LTB has ever scraped (I have TEIN High Tech drop, ~1.5") is on a gravel road that had a big hump in the middle. I was dragging rocks until I learned to drive with one wheel on the center hump!

Yup.. as you can see, I'd rather steer you the direction you need, not the one that makes me more money. Everyone benefits from honesty here, as I earn customers and respect through dealing with customers and steering them in the direction they need to go. simply selling a product you may or may not need and running with the cash is only going to hurt me in the long run.
