What in the Wide World of Sports is 0902???

MY CEL keeps coming back on with 0902 daily. It comes up undefined, so no i'm not a tard I checked the stickies.

Recent Mods include CAI, Y-Pipe, and 2 way alarm/remote start. The first time I saw this code was when my Crank position sensor came loose and my car crapped out on me. Crank sensor is 0802 though. When I pulled codes then i got 0802 and 0902. That was the day my Y-Pipe was put in as well, but they are pretty unrelated. After I got the sensor reconnected and reset the CEL, it was all good. Next Day, had my Alarm/Remote start put in. CEL came on, this time showing random codes like 1506, 1406, 1405. Reset CEL, was good for a day. Next day CEL comes on with 0505 - No problems found. Reset it, all good for a day. EVERY DAY after, the CEL will come on at random and spit out 0902. It doesn't seem to be from the alarm, because it comes on after I've been driving for about 20-30 minutes, and the first time I saw it was before the alarm was put in. It is getting really annoying. The car runs perfect, but the damn CEL wont stay off, and I cant find what 0902 is anywhere.

Found it - MODS update the stickies with the following :

P0141 - 0902 - Downstream oxygen sensor heater or circuit fault

Now the question is, which friggin O2 sensor is it? It's a cali-spec, and the car seems to run fine.

According to the manual, the downstream sensor is connected to the cat...I don't recall seeing one there, and the haynes manual seems to refer to fed spec.

if you have a cali spec warpspeed y-pipe (like mine), check the fitment of the o2 sensors in the new y-pipe. i have the same code on mine and my o2 sensor is all busted up by the wiring coming out of it, where is it pressed right up against the oil pan (thank you warpspeed for making cali spec y-pipe fitment so close that if i give it part throttle the pipe starts to bang against the metal undercar brace) that pipe is coming off soon and getting sent back to warpspeed!

btw that o2 sensor is $120 from nissan and it controls the A/F ratio so your gas mileage is going to go down a lot like 14 mi a gallon in the city, and with the cold weather warming the car up is a PITA on your wallet

i don't know what bank (left or right) the sensor is. the front header has 2 o2 sensors, (in the header directly, and one after the huge pre-cat.) then there's one located in the pipe between the front and the rear headers (that's the one!) if you look under your car you might be able to see the wiring for it. the last is coming from the rear header.

if you have a warpspeed y-pipe you might have the same fitment issues i do.

good luck

Thanks for the info Vadim. When I put the y-pipe on i removed that little metal bracket that held the precat heat shield to make more clearance for the sensor, and it appeared to fit OK. I'll have to get under there and check it out see if it is banged up or what. The manual says this sensor doesn't control a/f, but then again the manual shows a fed spec where this sensor is mounted on the cat. Haven't noticed a huge drop in MPG, but I am going to start monitoring it now that you told me that. U think maybe the sensor is getting too much heat from the engine? Because the code doesnt pop up until i've been driving for a half hour or so.

Now that i'm watching it, i think my gas mileage is going down a bit, how $h1tty. Guess ima have to suck it up and replace the sensor. But is it gonna just go on me again in a few months? Any cali-speccers with y-pipes feel free to chime in.

OK now the hard part. Looing at oxygensensors.com, thye list all 4 sensors, but only the front 2 are labeled, and they list 2 more with no description, and the cross ref link comes up zilch. Take a Look:
