150k still able to mod?

my max has around 150K on the engine and chassis... if i want to mod it to get more power should i just rebuild the engine and then mod it or would i still be able to get decent power out or my engine right now with mods... mind you that i have an auto... ( if im going to spend the time and money to rebuild the engine then i would convert to a 5-speed)

Well I guess it all kind of depends on what you are planning to do to her. As long as it is not something crazy like a turbo, NOS, Supercharger it should be okay. I did'nt start modding mine till well after 150,000. Nothing crazy though

-"Y" pipe
-MSD ignition
-Greddy SP cat-back
-Stillen ECU upgrade
-Place Racing Cold Air intake

This is what I have done to the performance side of things. Of course cosmetics to both interior, exterior, ICE..... I really think that you don't have anything to worry about. Go for it!!

Your engine should be bullit proof unless previous owners neglected it. Since you have an auto VG, one worthwhile "mod" might be to upgrade to a VE if you really want performance. Then again people have gotton good results building a turbo setup for their VG's. Good luck with the car whatever you do.

Does it still pull hard? Or does it have a noticeable loss in performance?

220k on mine and I road race it at least twice a month...

But if you plan on doing anything major to it, dump that automatic tranny. it's crapola, and only holding you back.
