i got my tranny all together then found out i had one extra little metal ball. i drove it till it messed up, and i got stuck in 2nd gear. does anyone know how many of these small ***** there are? also, could someone tell me from left to right, the ball order, with the shift posts facing you (example: spring, ball, post, ball, ball, post, ball, metal separator, ball, spring etc. etc.) thanks very much

Sounds like a detent spring for 2nd gear. I honestly can't believe you opened up the tranny without a factory manual. I highly suggest getting one.
