Headlamp cleaner blade sync. Is there?
Headlamp cleaner blade sync. Is there?
As long as I have owned my J30, headlight vipers have worked like a pair of vipers... individually, stop where ever. One up, one down or whatever, like windows.
Someday will take a look whatsin there. Possibly factory installation problem, maybe home pos wire not installed.
But is there a home position switch in each? Suggestions?

Yes. Would like to have the two vipers behave like a educated pair of wipers: in concert with windshield wipers [as selected] and then [both] return to 'home position'. Currently they are ugly as they point wherever they want... and besides a blade in front of a lamp reduces light on the road.
Windows one must live with. But this?

they point whereever they want most likely because they aren't factory installed.
I don't recall them being an option on our cars.
so you may just be up the proverbial $hit'$ creak

Most probable as Scandinavia has sold only few hundred Maximas per year in the 90's.
My question was: do these have home pos sw installed inside? (=correct wirings --> get civilized look). I can build the switches outside the motor [under the bumper], but thats laborous & not very elegant way.
Anyway its good to have info before hands get dirty. Hopefully someone has this info; the components used must have sold millions.

ehh... gotta love translators.
most likely your best bet would be to take it to a dealer. the headlights wipers didn't come on u.s. models and most of the members here are in the u.s. so wouldn't know much about it. dealership or a mechanic would be your best bet.

Deal er ship ... no titanic deal! I am able to ruin my car myself, get all the fun and it comes real cheap.
But if good schematics were somewhere... The chilton/haynes so called 'manual' is a car toon...
Eventually I end opening the pair myself, but info would be nice to know why the smoke escaped... I heard some have the wipers in US also. If 1% of US MAximas has them, its still more than in here

might try this site http://www.bignissans.org.uk/ it seems at the moment its down but i know they have a lot of good info on there. not sure if they cover the headlight wipers but they might.
I suppose ? that page is now: http://www.newshampark.org.uk/bignissansold/j30/
Some worthwhile stuff.
Not much help in this nuance, at least did not find any. Once upon a time I tried to get e-mail answer, maybe I am not worthy to be included in the Royal Maximum recipient list...
Btw. How to obtain original Nissan service Manual? At least would get wiring diagrams. How much would that cost...
