I want to wire my cig. lighter power outlet to get power even when the car is off. Before I go crazy with my multimeter finding a live wire, I though I would post.

What is the closest/easier wire to splice into my cig. lighter?

I am doing this so my GPS and radar detector will have power 24/7, so my GPS can charge.
