my roof is leaking bad everytime it rains now. i had a shop blow compressed air down the front drainage holes. i wanted him to do the rear also, but they were inaccessible. what all needs to be removed to get to the rear holes i.e. the glass, headliner, or whatever. please help because im tired of my floor getting wet.

you can get to the drains from the trunk where the antena motor is. Pull off the carpet and from the sides and look for the rubber drain lines. they will prob be clogged at the end so you can clean all the crap out from there.

Also open your sunroof and pour some water on the sides and see if the water goes down. It is possible that the front is still clogged. So if it drains. If not make sure to clean out the bottom of your fender where it meets ther door. If you havent it is prob full of dirt.

I think mine is leaking, but I can't prove it. I don't have any water coming through, but I have a stain that keeps growing. Sounds like a leak to me.

How do you clean up a water stain on the sunroof panel?

It is rubber. Draino might eat it. First try unclogging it from the trunk and see if that works.

aww man i feel your pain, i had a 92 max and the leaking sunroof was rediculous.
i went through the blowing the air down the drainage holes too. it turns of that the bracket was broken and the glass would not sit flush with the roof so water would just run right in. you might have the same proplem. i never got the sunroof fixed, i just traded it for another max.
you probley need a rebuild kit bro. or you might have to spend the money and send it to a auto glass shop.

it used to leak gayly when i first got it because of a sagging glass. i fixed that with washers. that stopped it for very good while. but because of that i believe the drains are now clogged and its leaking gayly again

i love the crap out of u guys. no more leak, hopefully. i got bout there this morning and tried to find the culprit drain. the two front ones were great. but the two rear were very different. the drivers side one was partially clogged. the pass. was completely clogged. poured water down it and nothing came through. the clog was at the y section where two drains met. i stuck some 8ga. wire through it. it was nothing that compressed air would have got. it was too solid. all kinds of crud and mud and leave bits started coming out. so i just went on ahead and cleaned all four. time too get the carpet dried now. you guys are the best.

plugged drain

Keep clean by flushing when you wash the car. I have two sunroof'd cars, (1990 Max, 1999 I30) both need quarterly (once-every-three-months) cleaning because of the trees in my neighborhood. Last leaker I had was a 1986 Volvo...learned my lesson. Keep dem darn drains clean.
