01 GLE Instructions for Maxima HID INSTALL Please Read (New Member)

First off I just won this car of ebay (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/e...TRK%3AMEWN%3AIT), and I plan on getting these (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/e...sspagename=WDVW). I have an excellent ebay feedback rating (honest and have integrity), and I simply want to know what I am getting into before I purchase. Will somebody be so kind to email me instructions on how to do the install? My email address is the following bsuccess1@gmail.com. No I have not purchased the headlights, but before I make a $600 dollar investment I would like to make sure I can proficiently do the install.

Upon purchasing this car I've done most of my research by using this forum. I decided to donate because you all have been tremendous in helping me make an informed decision. Please don't assume everyone has the intention of stealing. Thank you kindly, and I look forward to being a helpful member of this board.

hid

I decide to buy from ebay member based on their past ratings. Selling over 2700 items, and a positive feedback of 99.8% is very impressive. That rating does not happen arbitrarily. I am not seeking advice on where to buy the lights only how to wire the lights. Thank you

?

May I get an explanation on why the thread would be locked? That would be helpful in giving me direction with my future postings.

Well.........

Its amazing isent it? No one will help you out . If I knew how I would try to help you out. But it is a sensitive subject. It shouldent be but it is. If you want nice stuff there is always going to be some one who wants what you have. **** on this forum when ever you bring up that you have a 5th Gen some one always points out that it is inferior to the 5.5s because you dont have hids & you dont have a 3.5 engine. Yet when you try to make your car as close to a 5.5 as possible with the exception of a engine swap no one wants to help. In my opinion its no different to a tail light swap. Alot of guys with a 2k2 & 2k3 want the 00/01 tails. Why? Because they look better. Thats the reason guys with 5th gens want the hids. It shouldent be assumed by org members or especially moderators that anyone who posts about Hids is up to no good or contributing to hid theft. Hell ....in dash dvd players which cost alot more than hids are stolen frequently. Yet you can get install answers no problem. Why is that? Wish you luck on your install. Well

Exactly

Kevon1, I appreciate your empathy. I would think that this situation can be approached in a mature manner. Of course I'm aware that no one owes me anything. But how much effort would it take to cut and paste the wiring instructions and email it to me? Any positive assistance would be appreciated.

I agree completely, especially the point about how the HIDs are no different from audio/visual stuff in terms of getting stolen, etc. There are plenty of legit places to get the 2k2-3 HIDs if you're willing to pay for them, including ebay, dealers, junkyards, etc etc. To assume that anyone with an early 5th gen is buying stolen goods is completely ridiculous. On the other hand, if the HIDs in question have the standard broken tabs, scuffs, chips, etc that indicate they are probably stolen, that's another matter altogether.

My suggestion: If you buy HIDs and want help with install, post a pic of either the product itself (to prove the tabs are not broken), or the receipt for buying new ones (or the box they came in!).....

Funny, I don't see a big outcry when someone is posting expensive RIMS for sale. I mean, rims get stolen all the time!!!!

Yeah I hate how sensitive this subject is. Might have better luck searching google or somewhere besides here.

Just take your car to any local shop and ask the guy that's good with electrical stuff to install them for you. Tip him 50 bux, and you're good to go.

Broken tabs don't mean anything. I cracked my tabs in half from over-tightening.

true....but in most cases, the broken tabs come from theft....of course there are always exceptions, like yours.
