How can I get the haze off of my headlights?

Its not a moisture fog, its just a haze on the inside of my headlights on my 02 maxima. Is there any way that I can clean it or prevent it from happening?

Bake them in an oven then open them up. Then use "Blue Magic Plastic & Plexiglass Cleaner" That should take that haze right out.

Are you sure the haze is on the inside of the headlights? I ask because this is a common problem and I think there is actually a TSB for this. But this is for haze developing on the exterior plastic. For this, just use 3M plastic polish and they will be good as new.

I did it when I installed my DDE's but I can't remember the exact temp I used. Just use a low temp (200) and check them OFTEN!! Though it should take around 10 to 15 mins for the sealant to get nice and soft.

CHECK THEM OFTEN!!!!!! My g/f and I were playing rummy while my lights were baking - she suggested I check them after 7 minutes and I said, "nah...let 'em wait for another 3 minutes." Lo an behold, I now have a MELTED headlight. Honestly, I really suggest that you just use a heat gun to slowly melt the glue, it's more time consuming but MUCH safer

heat gun does sound more safer, better than cookin your headlights and having no lights at all

Oh, and if you do decide to take them apart, I suggest using this kit to clean the headlights. I did manage to get the other on apart with no damage (albiet still leaving me with a headlight to replace) so I used this kit. It works just as good as advertised!

Oh, and you can use it on all kids of clear plastic. I accidentally got some armor-all streakage on my dash cluster...I used this and, viola! No more streaks and a beautiful shine!

PS - Sorry if I sound as if I am plugging this item, but it really does work that well!

The Baking Process Isn't The Answer. That Is Retarded. Any Kind Of Wax Or Polish Will Take It Out With A Little Elbow Grease. I Wax Mine About Once A Month And They Are Crystal Clear. Please Do Not Bake Them. That Is Again Retarded. Just My .02

Peace

The original post stated that the haze was on the inside of the lights. If that is the case (which I don't think it is), than he has to open up the lights either by baking or heat gun to clean them.

I'm not sure if it is on the inside or outside. I'll check out the polish tonight and give it a try.
