What is the best hp mod you can do?

What can you do to add most horsepower to an 02 auto max? I know the CAI is out of the question. Thanks for any advice.

Who makes good headers? I've seen some headers made by ssautochrome.com on ebay for a good price. You guys think those are any good?

Turbo or Supercharger would be a good answer, however, there are currently none available for the 2K2 auto or even manual, and that is what he was asking about.

nuttin can beat the price/performance of nitrous power on demand.....and the engine damage bla bla bla rambling/whinnin is nonsense unless used inapropiately or engine is maintained poorly but this applies the same to anything else......

the stillen roots style supercharger should work on a 2k2 it adds 150 hp from what ive heard, but i do know the blue maxima on the fast and the furious had that stillen charger. they cost around 3k.

i agree kiosk, as long as the driver uses N20 at the right time(WOT-wide open throttle)and doesnt try and put a 3 stage 200 shot on a stock geo metro, you should be ok.

If your looking for the best bang for buck then y-pipe. If you can afford alittle more then go for headers.

Sell your car, get a used 01 5spd, turbocharge it and be set. ONLY way to go.

Why would you get an 01 5speed when you can get an 02-03 6 speed. By the way I used to have a 02 6speed buy I sold it cause I was in need of money and ended up getting an 02 auto for 6 grand cheaper.

cause the 6spd tranny sucks ballz. And all the HIGH HP Maximas are 3.0Ls. Just that some people here have a short..... complex and they need big engines to make up for that. Seriously, everyone here loves the 3.5L and they rave bout the power etc.... thats great, I love the look on peoples faces when they try to tell me mine is supercharged... yet its all bolt on only. 3.0 is a awesome engine, the 3.5L is used in minivans, SUVs, wagons, pick up trucks etc.... where 3.0L was a Maxima ONLY engine, an exclussive.

Tyres.

Tyres will improve your performance more than any other mods. 15hp for headers... 10hp for y-pupe... wane in comparison.

With a GOOD set of tyres, you will (and obviously...the stickier, the better the output):
- reduce your braking distances (from anywhere to 5' to 50' from 60mph)
- increase your lateral traction (an increase from .05g to .5g)
- increase your forward traction (an increase of two tenths to seven tenths in your 60' times)
- increase in transitional behaviour (slalom speeds increased 5mph all the way up to 15mph)
- reduction of braking force required to stop (aka, less brake changes/fade)
- BEST OF ALL: Keeping the car "stock" looking and sounding.

Not that tyre upgrades will magically make the car faster than a Vette...but, it's going provide a wider range of performance than headers.

sell your car, and buy a ferrari enzo. Best horse power mod bar none.

How much is a lear jet anyhow??
edit:
Just to input, the headers include a ypipe. The ypipe alone, as from my experience on a car to similar to akogans, did nothing. The headers did add a bit of power up top, nothing to umm itch and scratch about ; ). The power mods are lacking on our cars, yet don't let it stop you.

Highest powered NA 5.5 gen maxima around here is sr20den, he isnt making more then 250 whp, that's a fact. Our cars aren't getting that much gains from bolt on.

I don't believe, even with the most expensive tires and rims, which u can go and spend 4k on i guess for the very best JDM whatever( believe me i would if i could) will not make a big enough difference to substantiate that. He will need new rims anyways to get any decent tires, unless he wants to mess around with the pilot sports (which are a ripoff) or those falkens sound half decent. Nothing along the lines of a super grippy Z rated tire is going to go on our stockers.

I say mod the suspension, do a few basic boltons, when you get bored do more exteme ones, but unless u want to pioneer, and go all out on the big bucks (maybe get a turbo kit retrofitted, make your own, etc etc) Your not going to hit X horsepower you might be expecting. The differences we gain are subtle unfortauntly : /
Not to discourage, just speaking the truth.
