That's also known as the Teana in Japan, same body, different face and butt.

I heard the 2006 Maxima is going to have a V* and all wheel drive.

...or was that the 2002?

I like the rear, it looks a whole lot smoother than the bulky 6th gen we have now.

In fact I think the 6th generations look terrible, I sat in one at the autoshow in Austin last weekend, and it had that cheaply appointed feel on the inside. the seats weren't as comfortable as my 01 max. And my buddy's 98 max also feels like a nice max. not the 05. i'm really disappointed. except for the engine, i couldn't get one of those.

That Maxima you saw there, that's going to be here, that's gonna be the next Infiniti M45 except for the headlight is a bit different

The car is the Teana, the European / Japanese / Asian / etc. version of the Maxima. The location of the car dictates the name of the car in this case. This would have been the I35 if it had been continued in the US. At least that's my guess since that's what Nissan has done in the past with the non-US version of the Maxima (badging it an Infiniti I30 / I35).

http://www.nissan.co.jp/EN/lineup.html - Click Teana
http://www.manager.co.th/Motoring/Vi...an+teana&hl=en - not a bad overview
http://press.nissan-global.com/EN/EVENTS/teana.html - little press release

This may be the new M45 but the only pics I've seen are like these:

http://www.infinitihelp.com/Infiniti...M45/Photos.htm

Anyway, almost all car companies rename the cars for different countries as well as have different sheetmetal (much different in some cases, slightly different in others, sometimes the same). Take a trip to Mexico or the Bahamas or somewhere near the US and take a look at how different only a few miles can make in a car's appearance.

The Teana is NOT the new M45. The Teana is FWD with a V6. The M45 is RWD with a V8.

Always thought the Teana was even uglier than the 6th gens.

Your right the same cars in Mexico look alot diffferent than their us counterparts in alot of cases with different names. I know what we know as Sentra here is a Sunny their with minor differences.

Yup.. different countries, different demand and respect for names.. Sentras are also known as Sunny's down in the West Indies.

Also because of less strict Govt safety regulations they can get away with clear corner lights and the such. For example my old 1982 Toyota Corolla.. here in the US Market they came with fugly sealed beams and yellow corner lights. Out in the Dominican Republic, Phillippines, Australia etc... they came with H4 headlights and clear corners stock. As well as really small chrome bumpers instead of big ugly rubber ones.

Today I was out running around with a few friends and saw the new Ford Five Hundred. And I think the Ford looks a lot like the Teana

i think the 05 max looks freakin awesome compared to that teana thing. it looks like a boat on 14s, very very ugly. the 6th gens aint too bad, cept for the 3 foot fender gap up front.

That is the worst forum I've ever seen. Talk about rediculous sigs. I can't tell the difference from their statements and their retarded sigs.

I really like the look of the M45 but the plastic all over the engine bay really turns me off. Why not show off that beast of an engine?

Seems odd that you'd get our 6th gen Maxima towards the end of it's life cycle? It's been out since late 2003, by 2006 it'll be 3 years old.

For interests sake, this Maxima has been the most popular Maxima generation here in New Zealand, Nissan NZ has even brought out a sports series of it lol. It's also the fastest "everyday" sedan you can get at the moment Japan also has an AWD version of it, although at this stage I don't think it's left Japan yet.

Official site, they even devoted a whole domain to it http://www.newmaxima.co.nz
