30K Service on 02 - Fuel Injector Clean Needed?

I am having my 30K mile service done at a local shop and they say it is highly recommended that I get my fuel injectors cleaned. They are asking $90 for the service. I wanted to know if this truely needs to be done at 30K and if $90 is a lot to ask. Thanks for your help on this.

they highly recommend it becuase they want to make money. if you want to save some time and money, just stop by advance auto and pick up a bottle of chevron techron fuel system cleaner. dump it in when you will up and feel better knowing you saved 80 bucks. at 30k, i doubt you have much buildup but running the chevron ($10) or BGK44 ($15-20) at a local dealer should clean any deposits.

I agree with sloppy. Save your $90 and use it when you get closer to 100k miles. Regular use of a decent fuel additive will make a difference over the life of your car.

I had the fuel induction done on my Max. It should involve cleaning the throttle body, also. It worked for me and the car definitely performed better. I plan on having it done again this spring. It was worth it for me, but everyone has to make their own decisions
