okay...i posted something similar to this thread in the general maxima thread.

1)When i had my filter, exhaust, and pulley on, i beat my friend who only had a filter exhaust and y-pipe. (he ran a 14.6 at baytown)......anyways, i beat him by like 1/4 of a car (not much) ......so i'd estimate my car as 14.55

2)THEN when i added a cattman y-pipe and he added a pulley (his y-pipe is stillen by the way), his top end was a whole lot better than mine. I pulled on him quite a bit at first but on third and fourth, he started pulling hard. =) i wasnt about to let him pass me up so i started braking Kekekee.........OH YEAH he ran his car again at the track and he ran a 14.7.....NOW my car it seems is running HIGH 14's =O i dont understand

3) i recently added a flywheel. I raced a friend with a cvic hatchback with an LS integra motor. He just got back from the track and he ran a 14.5-14.6 consistently with drag slicks. When i raced him.....HE PULLED ON ME HARD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! so now i have no faith in my car watsoever and im thinking about selling it. anyone wants to help me out here before i completely lose my mind?

Dude it may just feel slow.. all of this is anecdotal and I'd strongly suggest you get real true factual numbers so you know for sure.

The problem with civics/integras

are once they get going they can have some pretty mean power to weight ratios. I know this is the "sacred no-no" on the board but they actually can haul @zz once off the line with certain mods, just try on a rolling start, you'll see!

It's not a good idea to base your performance from the numbers someone else ran at the track. There are too many variables. Go to the track and dyno yourself.

I was about to post the exact same thought.

There is something seriously wrong the shape of those dynos. They seem to bear no resemblance to what a 5th gen dyno plot should look like. The top end looks decimated. The only aspect of the plot that looks at all like a 5th gen plot is the small "blip" at 5000 rpm where the manifold flap changes. But, after the flap changes, the power should continue to climb all the way to redline.

150 wheel hp is down at least 40 hp from what it should be fo a stock car.

What gear was the dyno done in? I ask this because some dyno shops dyno cars in 3rd, although most do it in 4th. Dynos done in 3rd, at least in my experience with Mustangs, will show lesser HP numbers.

Plus, you have got to stop trying to measure your 1/4mi performance based on someone else's. There are so many variables, especially in 5 speeds, when it comes to track testing. If you plan on going out there to HRP, let me know because I may take my Max out there just to get some slips on her.

Those dyno numbers and the dyno plot look messed up....they look kind of like a 4th gens with the power falling off after 5k rpm. The reason the 5th gen power keeps increasing is because of the variable intake runners...could they not be working correctly
