what are your thoughts on clutches...

I have had a experiences with spec, clutchmasters, act and exedy..i liked them all except for clutchmasters. Since im new to maximas what do you guys preffer to use for clutches. I see a lot of exedy clutches for use as replacement and have options of sport clutches with higher clamping force and different materials for the clutch disc. Do a lot of maxima owners use exedy? if so what are your impressions?

thankx chris

Yes alot of people here use Exedy replacements and Exedy stage 1s. Personally i'm going for an Exedy stage 1, I haven't read one bad thing about it.
ACT stage 1 is a good clutch, but it has a heavier pedal feel, and ACTs in general have a tendency to break 3rd gear on our weak 4th gen trannies. If you really want to get an ACT and never worry about breaking your tranny, either drive sanely most of the time or stick a 00-01 5-spd tranny, those are stronger than ours.
Since the Spec clutch is relatively new to the Maxima market, not alot of info on their longevity is available, but its initial impressions are positive. The higher stages (2+) of the Specs seem to shatter alot according to some that have them. Hope that helps.
