So that's my problem!

I get a clunk clunk sound coming from the rear when I make sharp right turns. However I've pushed hard left hand turns and I haven't heard a thing. Is my axle bad too?

sounds like u got shock bearing problem (strut bearing). i get that too, but my shocks are all screwed up so it makes that noise even when i go on bumps. my next project is to replace the front shocks. if you want a cheap fix, you should just regrease your strut bearings for 0$.

Yeah it could be your upper strut bearing. Mine are shot and if I make an extremely tight turn it would start to 'click click click' as well, as the spring coil is trying to wind up as well and then relase.

Check CV joints on front axle. Check front axle behind wheels to see if CV boot is torn. If it is, chances are that the grease has worn out and your CV joint needs to be replaced. Nowadays, the better thing to do is just replace the axle (left or right, depending on which is bad) to the outer CV joint/boot. Take a look behind the tires and check out the boots.

No. You must take apart the suspension to get to the upper strut bearing.

how are you guys determining its coming from the "rear" of your car, if its not coming from the the front of the car its not the strut bearing or axles, u dont have strut bearing in the back or cv axles, also use synthetic lythium grease to regrease, i used mobil 1 syn grease

I can sense that the clicking is coming from the rear of whichever turn im making...right turn =passenger rear, left turn=driver rear. I've noticed it and its starting to worry me.

put your car in park, have someone else turn the steering wheel left > right while you put your ears near the front wheel , one full turn for each side, that should get you a better idea of where the sound is coming from, if its coming from the rear its not your cv cause there is no CV in the rear, they are only used on the wheels that turn, not the back wheels. i think it is your cv but i dotn think the sound is coming from the rear cause when mine went they clicked too but they come from the 2 front axles...which are the CVs ...dahhh

also if you drive in reverse with parking brakes on the sound is louder if its your axles, jsut have your windows rolled down

or in my case i just got out and started rocking each side. and u could probably use multipurpose grease not wd40 cause that is thin grease
