maxima w/ i30 auto gas door popper installed and other goodies

finally got around to it. one thing the 4th gen maximas never came with was an auto gas door popper. now me and my buddy have them installed in our cars w/ oem nissan parts. I saved alot of time by getting the stock harness that was wired for homelink, mirror and everything saved alot of time. also now have power seats.

stock button and popper wired and functional.

1996 infiniti auto dimming mirror installed fully functional

the auto popper is pimp I love it. it was really easy just had to drill 2 holes in the rear and wire it up becuase maximas didn't come with that option at all.

i've been trying to get my hands on those parts for a long time. good job!

do you have an emergency pull for it like the i30's do in the trunk incase it stops working for some reason?

i added power trunk to my gxe and want to do this so i can get rid of that pull lever on the floor but i haven't been able to get the popper. i think i could do it with the trunk popping mechanism and just hook it up to the gas lid cable to pull that, but haven't tried it yet either.

that'd be cool man send me a price! the trunk thing is easy. i made a thread about it a while back. let me know if you need me to pull it up. i didn't use a stock button for the trunk pop. i bought one at sears and put it in the same location you put the gas lid one.

That's what I thought, I pull on the lever and the door automatically pops opens!!!
Just kidding, looks like it works off of 12 volts, kinda like the trunk popper.

Looks like he went to extremes in order to just "push a button" and have the fuel door open. More James Bond like I guess.

Personally, I'd like to have the compass thing on my rear view mirror like my fathers 01' I30. Anyone know if you can swap those type rear view mirrors to ours without too much hassle?

to me the "auto gas door popper" is a total waste of money and time. When i pull on the handle to open mine the thing pops open 1/2 way already, so why would someone wanna have and "auto" pop when the cable is just as good? Now the auto dimming mirror is a sick mod that i wished i had... good job on that.

Green = Illumination
Black = Ground
Orange (cant recall)
Red = Power

All of these all located in the driver's side kick panel. Open the kickpanel and match the color and splice em in!

My wife has the auto dimming mirror in her 2k1. I think they're lame and don't get dark enough. I always end up flipping the mirror anyway in her car. Then again, my eyes are VERY light sensitive.
