ok guys, i have 99 se-limited and there is a red security light blinkin, but i dont know what its for!!! what kind of alarm system do i have??? i do not have keyless entry, but i think i have the immoblizer thing..not sure what it does...but if i do have an alarm then does the horn atleast honk and the lights flash??? if so?? how?? can someone help me out w/ what i got???

 

So, does anyone know what i have??? how can i make sure that i actually have a damn alarm system???

If the light is just left of the steering column and label "security" it's the factory one... Details in you owners manual...

 

come on man...from the top of ur head..what do u think i have?? i mean, for example, if the windows r down, and if i reach into the car and unlock the door and open it, will the alarm go off??? (light blinking and horn)??? help me out...

 

It's just a passive alarm system with starter kill. No shock sensor or anything like that. Your front windows will roll down if you hold the unlock button on the remote but will not roll back up. No the alarm will not go off unless the doors are unlocked from the inside...for example if someone were to reach in through the window and unlock it from the inside while it is armed.

 

Given it's the factory system...

Doors, hood, trunk are protected... No glass.. No shock.. No ultrasonic...
