Whether one uses this or some other film brand, the film approach is probably preferable to spray paint, since the film can presumably be removed (if desired) before resale. Personally, I don't find smoked lenses attractive...
I personally like the look, and it would no doubt look great on my all smoke max, but I just can't bring myself to smoke 'em, given the significant reduction in safety and potential for (warranted) tickets.
Doesn't make sense in a vehicle that has been designed with excellent safety features (e.g. 6-8 air bags, VDC, brake assist, third rear shoulder belt, crash cage, etc.), let alone a basic car.
But thanks for the link, regardless Bob.

(at least show your product in your ad...)
Just does not look right especially on a silver SE, perhaps the film would be more fitting on a black Max. Then again what is the purpose of tail lights if they can barely be seen? That would probably run into an auto insurance issue in the case of an accident...would it not?

Now if the material for the film is something similiar to that little sticker that you get on your windshield received on oil changes that you can peel on and off when desired...then that would not be a bad idea i guess.
I like smoked taillights on a black max or dark color. I think a light smoke on the lights would be good because it wont darken the lights so much as to cause an accident but it will still have a some red color left to contrast the body color.
I have been constantly searching for some new tail lights...but have not had any luck as of yet. I had came across a website for a company that does customizes head and tail lights, and now i cannot seem to find them again.

I imagine something will come out sooner or later. Some thing different. Some LED ones would look nice. Guess it still comes up to personal taste though.

I hear there is a spray on tint called Nite SHades, for tinting light lenses, like ur tail lights. Anyone try it or know where to pick some up. PEP Boys and Autozone didnt have any.

The lower % number is going to be the darker film. Hence 35 is lightest. 35% of light makes it through it.
