Today I race a Subaru WRX and it blew my *** away!!!! It beat me by around 2.5 car lengths to around 90. I knew they were fast and knew I would lose. It was my friends WRX he just got it and wanted someone to race. Those things are pretty cool though, i really like em. Just thought id share.

Yeah those things are pretty quick. A bunch of us went out to race the other night, not at a track but just a country road and a guy had the new WRX and it beat most of the cars it raced. It beat an Eclipse GST and a Talon not sure what year but it was a turbo. It lost pretty bad to a twin turbo supra though but what do you excpect. Anyone here ever raced one? Can a max beat it with good mods? Besides SC and NOS. Take Care

I saw one on I93 this Sunday and the guy driving though he was cool until his boogyboard flew of the car when he jumped to the left lane. He wasn't to cool after that.

Yeah I bet he didnt feel very cool after that happened. Hey sb97max where do you live? I thought I saw that you lived in Colorado, if so I do to. What town and where do you guys race? I live in Ft. Collins. As for the Subaru, has anyone else raced one of these? Im also curious to know what mods I would need to beat this thing, he pulled on me hard and I just couldnt keep up. What would I need? All I have now is a Weapon*R AFM Intake System. Thanks

Besides the power, the AWD is its biggest advantage. Off the line they are unstoppable.

Man, I couldn't even look into getting one of those if I wanted, I am 6'5" and 235. That's what I hate about most fast cars, I can't even fit into them.

sure, they look cool IMHO, and they are veyr fast (after driving one. But they are small inside and very cheap and plasticy. I also felt cramped and i'm only 5'10"

No way I'm trading... but I still respect them and i'm glad that there is another cool car on the road... too many chevy luminas and other boring stuff out there

I dont think I would ever get one either. Im 6'2 225lbs so I guess I wouldnt really fit either. They are cool looking though! Hey Canuck do you ever go to bandamere? I think I am going on May 8th and probably again in June. There are quite a few races here in Ft. Collins. A lot of people around here just try to race you. I think 1 out of every 10 times I pull up to a stop light there is a car there wanting to race!

I was gonna head out to bandamere next weekend, before I leave for the summer. I was trying to get a little mini-meet going, but there isn't much support in Co.

hey maxima97...i feel ya on that race. just this past weekend raced on a highway that's never had traffic. i didn't know if he wanted to race, so i let him pass me...and he passed me quick and then slowed down...so then i knew he wanted to race. im automatic with 2 other people in my car, and it was him and his girlfriend. we raced up to 125 (or wherever my governor is limited at)..and he had me by 1 1/2 to 2 car legnths....but i was not at all dissapointed with my run since i was running with 2 people, a bad hi-flo cat and a system. the guy ended up living in the same apt. complex....we ended up talking a bit..real nice guy who had just gotten the car and was looking to race. but i still get a feeling that with my mods, i might have been able to hang with him with a stick, or maybe with vb mod.

A couple of weeks ago at the track a guy was running 13.8-.9 in a WRX with nothing more than a boost controller. Don't know what boost he was running, but he was cranking it up for another go when we were leaving.

For fun, I test drove one the other day. it really as some kick! My max felt sluggish after i was done, but the subaru is only good from 3000 rpm up with the turbo. Its quite noticable, the turbo lag.

About knowing you'll lose... I tried to beat a bike the other day. i got him off the line - by surprise - but when i went from second to third he smoked me. It was fun though! I'll stick with cars from now on. Not quite as embarassing.
