How many times have you been flashed!

Since I got my 05 Max SE I have atleast been getting about 2 - 3 cars in the opposit direction flashing thier hi-beams at me each nigh! Granted I live in florida with a bunch of retired people who cant see as it is, but how many of you have had consistant high beam flash's at you!!

Of course I just flash them back and when they get close I do the old turning side marker at them too lol...

Twice in 15 months. But here in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area, people are pretty used to HID's now and don't freak out and think you're hi-beaming them. In fact, those weenie little weak halogens really stick out in the nighttime crowd now.

Well, I've been flashed quite a few times at Gasparilla in Tampa, but just for beads, and beer (wish I've lived in Tampa again) Seriously though, I've been flashed once from another car, and it was the day I bought the Maxi driving it home. Don't know if it was because it was so clean in December, or if it were the headlamps.

Every day in southern Delaware...I guess the whole new technology thing hasn't caught up to the mass of 86 tempos ruling the road here so I kinda stick out.

I get flashed occasionally, but people around here don't understand what those fancy bright looking headlights are, so I have to educate them by flashing them back.

Now that I think about it, not only do we have Bright HIDS, our car sits up higher then most with those 18" rims, compared to those with 14-16" So Im sure that dont help it any either.

Not really. The wheel rims are larger but the side walls are shorter (low profile tires), so the Max does not really sit any higher than most sedans.

In 1.5 years I've only been flashed a few times, but then I don't drive very much at night.

I'm in the DFW area too and I think I've been flashed once since July. I have to agree with Mike that HIDs are pretty commonplace in the Metroplex.

I don't get flashed very often, but it does happen maybe 1-2 times a week. I don't have HIDs, but I think the regular bulbs are brighter than most. I love flashing people back cuz then they feel like complete dumb a**es

Whats even worse for me, not only am I getting flashed 3-4 times per night when I drive home (EVERY NIGHT since I got it on 12/31) I flash them back and they persist on keeping thier high beams on till they pass me, regardless when I do a quick flash back at them. Its not like Im keeping my high beams on to **** them off more.

Are our high beams any more brighter then normal? Has anyone stood from a distance and see if its any worse or the same? I just dont think they can tell from high and lows.

Cyber, it may be that your lights aren't adjusted right and really are blinding people. By keeping their brights on, they're telling you that your lights are really killin' 'em.

My next day off I will have my brother in law has his ppl at the nissan dealership to check it out, hopefully this is the case, I cant imagine this is to be normal with them. I was hoping this topping would bring out that this isn't just my issue that its more then just me .. I just think that its all the old retirement people I have around me, not everyone flash's at me.. but I do come across them.

Personally I think its just the COLOR of the light itself that they are sensitive to, if it were other kind of lights yellowish in a way they would not bother, being its just a white light probably just make them squint just a hair to flash me?

I also live in the DFW area and get flashed often like once a week. I flash back but I don't think that is more intense, just higher projection of the beam. Someone suggested readjusting the aim because some of them come higher than others. Don't know if that's true but I know some cars have had problems with the rear sagging more than what it's designed to look like and maybe that adds to the higher beams. My other car has HIDs and I have never been flashed so I'm wondering if mine is one of those. Hmmmm

Fog Lights

I was getting flashed often. I then noted that I also had my fog lights on. Once I turned them off, I have not been flashed.

It may be that the HIDs plus foggers are just too much.

Man I got flashed by someone, foggy/rainy out (must for fogs). He was driving with his highs on, turns them off, then flashes me twice. So I FLASHED him. My fogs are yellow, so it's obvious I had lows on and they were much needed for the weather conditions.

I expect to get flashed and enjoy educating the ignorant of today's technology.

Only time that sorta bothers me is when following someone and they get aggravated b/c they think you're beaming/flashing them due to uneven payment and the beam pattern rises into their cabin. Tends to induce slight road rage. But people should get used to it soon.

I LOVE my HIDs and Gold Ions, even if they are unappreciated by others.

Useless w/o pictures!

WOW!

Actually, I get flashed on cold, clear nights...which is obvious as everything is brighter and clearer. Just don't get folks that never get used to HIDs. Or the fact when I have someone tailgating me with HIDs...you can tell becaue they aren't as bright and they are therefore, too close.

I just wish I could manually set the auto-dimming rearview mirror to on...otherwise I have to get the rear window tinted...and PA only allows 70%.

My father had a BMW X5 with the xenons which i was constantly getting flashed driving that. and that car definetly was higher being an suv it probably was quite annoying. but everytime i saw high beams I would do what all of you would do... just give them a peek of your high beams and show them those are the regular lights.

I have never been flashed once in 8 months, and oncoming HID's don't bother me much at all, BUTTTTT

I really do despise the total package of fog lights and low beams coming at me when the weather is just fine. Knowing how I feel, I never run the fogs unless the weather justifies the usage.

I know that if a 6th gen Max is riding on rough roads, it's likely to appear as if it's flashing its high-beams. When that hits you spot on in your rear-view, it's blinding, more so than most cars.
