UPDATED** Video clip of my exhaust

Ok here is a video clip I just made of my exhaust.

I have a y-pipe and just replaced the cat with a straight pipe. Love the sound...nice deep drone ..no weed eater sound

this is my first time with webspace and ftp servers...hopefully the link works.

enjoy

**UPDATE**
I just added a new video. It has action shots from inside and outside the car. For those that saw the first video, you can tell that the sound is louder and deeper under load and WOT.

ENJOY

It works... sounds good too... although I was kinda hoping for some "action shots" of ya speeding up and down past the speed traps on 50 or Fairfax County Parkway...

that's with just a Y-Pipe and test pipe? Sounds more like an aftermarket cat-back.
Props

It does, indeed, sound nice. I was thinking of going aftermarket y-pipe to stock cat to custom cat back to stock muffler, basically eliminating the resonator but upping the stock tubing size. But after hearing that, I think I will have to order a resonator as well. Your's is about where I want my sound level to be.

Sounds real nice. Do you have a stock B-Pipe? Also, if not are you runnin a resonator on ? I've got a y-pipe, custom 2.5" into a stock can and am trying to decide if I want to remove the 18" Magnaflow Resonator I have on my B-Pipe...I want to hear you rev it.

Hey Jason, is your test pipe a certain brand or is it like those that are on ebay for 30 bucks? If so, is there a difference and where can I find a reputable one?

So uhh, how does it affect emissions since you replaced the Cat with a straight pipe?

In order to reduce emissions, modern car engines carefully control the amount of fuel they burn. They try to keep the air-to-fuel ratio very close to the stoichiometric point, which is the calculated ideal ratio of air to fuel. At this ratio, all of the fuel will be burned using all of the oxygen in the air. This significantly reduces carbon monoxide, VOCs and NOx molecules (the gases that a three-way catalytic converter is also designed to reduce.)

Bottom line...as long as your car is serviced, you take care of it, and use the proper fuel...the emissions are neglible. (a lot less then your city bus that is supposed to reduce pollution )

disclaimer - you will fail an emmisions test if your state or county require it. OK does not

Yes, they do. I used to live in boulder and they are fairly strict on emissions.

Sounds good... how are you sneaking by on the emissions inspections with the straight pipe??? I lived in VA for many years and fell victim to the emissions test a few times.

Soonerfan's vehicle is tagged in Oklahoma. Oklahoma has no vehicle inspections. Therefore, Soonerfan can get by with having the straight pipe.

I heard that if you sub in a straight pipe for your cat, a foul odor emanates from the exhaust. Something that smells like rotten eggs. There are many posts that i have read that can attest to this at mx6.com.

Does this apply to our Max's?

that smell is from the cat itself when it goes bad. its the particles inside. the smell is not from the exhaust that isnt being cleaned by the cat. i have NO SMELL
