front strut bar install??

A few questions:
Any specific way of doing the install? Am I right by saying all you need to do is bolt it on nice and snug, without stipping the bolts, and then twist the bar to tighten it?

Another question.. I purchased the custommaxima.com fstb. The only way it fits is if the custommaxima logo is facing the winshield, and not the front of the car. Should I unscrew both of the mounting brackets and alternate them?

I would also like to know if anyone has had any fitment problems. I think there is some fluid container in the way near the right strut.

Thanks,
Mike

Install instructions didn't come with the bar?? That seems strange.

I also ordered Strut bar from custommaxima.com and it did not fit because of the fluid container as well. Passenger side bracket and driver side bracket should be different but I got 2 passenger side brackets instead.

I've called custommaxima.com 3 or 4 times, I got an answer each time that they will be receiving the replacements brackets at the end of the week.... I've been waiting since NOVEMBER.

I noticed on their site that they some in stock. I guess they are still selling and shipping them to their customers knowing of the fitment problem....

Does anyone here have a Stillen Front Strut Bar on a 2003 Maxima SE Automatic? I called up Stillen and they claim it does not fit on the automatics. Anyone know anything about this?

I have the stillen on an 02 GLE (automatic). No fitment issues, just bolted right on. It came with directions for a 2000 maxima? It also has an aluminum spacer and a longer bolt. This is to be used if the SCV Control Vacuum Check Switch is in the way.
Also said to torque the strut tower rings to the strut tower at 43-58 ft.lbs
and the strut tower nuts to 20 ft.lbs
I did the install awhile ago don't remember too much just that it bolted up no issues

You're not the first... I don't understand why they keep telling people that... maybe I just don't know anything about the autos...? Can't see why it wouldn't fit... any differenences would be in the tranny and nothing else...

The chassis flexes, and the bar will not fit properly. If you do manage to get it on, you will keep the chassis in that flexed state and it will affect handling.

Different motor mounts = engine sits slightly higher in engine bay

engine sitting slightly higher in engine bay = Intake manifold hitting said strut bar
