My toilet OSCAI kicks asss!!!!
I didnt use a shopvac hose. I used plastic plumbing pipes and it works really well. I named it the toilet OSCAI. When you're done with this, it looks like a submarine telescope peeping down from the engine bay. It's really cute and it matches in white too.
If you want directions, here it is.
2 angle changing pipes. (45 degree, and 22.5 degrees)
1 3" main tubing about a foot long, I think.
1 coupler
* Connect one end of the coupler to the inlet tube. the inlet that used to be connected to the resonater.
* Connect the 22.5 degree pipe to the other end of the coupler and secure the stock ram air box back in place.
The reason you need a 22.5 degree pipe is that this inlet doesnt go straight down. It's inclined towards the front of the car by about 22.5 degrees, so you need to rotate the 22.5 pipe 180 degrees, so that when you connect the main pipe to the 22.5 angle pipe, it goes straight down. Get it?
* Connect the 45 degree pipe to the main pipe and connect the other end of the main pipe into the 22.5 degree pipe. You need to get under the car and have a friend pressing down on the ram ari box so you can press the whole thing together securely.
You now have a perfectly working ram cold air. It works really good and has a nice growl. The first time I did this, the main pipe was too long and it hanged too low. It was hilarious. I should have taken a picture of it. But I cut the main pipe 3" and it is perfect now. If you want detailed instructions, email me. I like this method better than the shopvac one because the plumbing pipe doesn't have any ridges like the shopvac hose and you need to glue the shopvac into somewhere if you want it facing directly front.
Total cost was $9 bucks.

Yeah that type of attachment just makes it look sooo much cleaner. I saw some guy with a Focus who used dryer tubing (3.5-4 inch stuff), and had it exposed just like that. Ugly job.

Post pics when you get them
I did my OSCAI yesterday. It looks like crap. I went to Home Depot and got vent hose and a coupler but it isn't really that secure and looks kinda funny. Not sure if I did it right because I didn't do as much research as I should have before hand. I can't really hear any growling either. Humm. Thanks.
Hehe ...
I also found it to be LOUDER with the OSCAI than Without too ... I like I like!
