My Headlight system is AWFUL!!! WTF???

Ok, here is my first real disappointment with my new 05' SE. What is the story with my headlights?

I have the halogen not HID. First of all the low beams are way off. They point up and to the left!

Also, the last leg of my drive out to Nevada is through Flagstaff on Interstate 40 and continuing through northwestern Arizona. I don't know if many of you know but this is one of the most dangerous roads. Especially in winter and at night. I had people flashing me like mad in the opposite direction and I don't blame them!

Second my high beams do absolutely nothing! The Fog lights work fine with the low beams but for most of Interstate 40 in western Arizona is loaded with deer and elk and I am cruising at 90 MPH. You need high beams because if you hit a deer at that speed your done for.

I know this has been discussed but when I bring my car in next week I am telling this dealer to fix it and that it's

Has anyone had this problem? What happened?

Sounds like they need to be adjusted. If they are pointing up and to the left, that would certainly explain why you are getting flashed. I have the halogen lamps and find they are a lot better on my wife's Max than they are on my 03 Altima.

They do need to be adjusted. The problem between the high and low beams first is that you only have one bulb in there. Because of this the low beams are nice and bright, but when you spread that same amount of light over a greater area it doesn't do too much. The electronic shutter in the car moves very little IMO between low and high. Over all the the 9012 bulb in the car is brighter than most 9005 high beam bulbs. Because we are so acustomed to our bright head lights when we switch to the highbeam it doesn't appear to do anything.

I agree that this sucks, but overall these headlights are the best ones I have ever had on the car. My mom is legally blind in one eye and she always comments how sweet my lights are compared to her silverstars in her car ( and those are bright). She says I can see everything in your car-I agree.

One solution may be to go with the 9011 bulb and modify the connector to fit the bulb. Downside is the life of the bulb is about 1/4 of the 9012.

Over the summer I drove to Vegas through AZ and it's crazy dark there at night. Wish I had the max on that trip.

Well this is being left to Nissan. I have 5000 miles on the car for pete's sake! I found a dealer in Lake Havasu City named Cooper Canyon Nissan. I will bring it in next week for an oil change and have them look at the headlights. I will keep you posted.

Yep! Sure did. 2600 miles in 3 days.

4th time. 1st in my new Max. Nevada is some state! I love it on the Colarado river. Sure beats NY winters.

Think you're over reacting. Its not like you dropped your tranny or anything. 15 min fix max, or you can try re-aiming the headlights yourself it you can't wait.

There is a 12 month 12K "adjustment" warranty on your vehicle. Nissan will take care of the headlighs for you. I have owned Nissans for years, and about 10 or 11K I go to the dealer complaining my wiper baldes are bad....like magic I get new wiper blades at no cost.

Take advantage of the adjustment warranty!!

Thanks guys, I am pretty upset about it because I needed my headlights working properly when I was in AZ cause I had to do some driving with no light, which is dangerous in that part of the country. My high beams were doing nothing and that was no good.

I am hoping the guys at Cooper Canyon Nissan are warm and friendly.
