Should I Get A Bomz Cold Air Intake For 97 Max Off Of Ebay?????? Worth It???

i found a bomz cold air intake on ebay for $32 plus 18 shiping and handling.
thats not bad for a cold air intake. plus i think it should give hp and torque increase close to what the injen produces. i just don't think spending $244(CE price on injen intakes) is worth it.

Bomz is a fine cold air intake, many people on here have it. I'd say go for it.

Just be sure what you want, because bomz requires you to drill a hole in your fender well (making it a *true* cold air intake), while injen doesn't. Check out my cardomain to see what the true cold air intake looks like.

bomz worked fine for me. Mine didn't come with a cutting template though, which sucked.

This could be true... g4nismo, do you have the link to the eBay auction for the bomz intake you're looking at?

just search under cars and parts and type nissan maxima bomz cold air.

i know the CAI needs drilling, but does the bomz need drilling to? arn't they setup up differently, the piping i mean.

Well, you could do it two ways I guess;

1. Use both "metal" pipes and drill a hole in your fender well to get cold air from there, that's the setup I have...

or...

2. Use just the short metal pipe and stick the cone filter on there and have a "short ram" intake.

The bomz setup is the exact same as any other CAI, if you look at the injen intake, it has different bends in the piping.

Will I have to worry about water or debris getting sucked up into the intake where it is mounted in the fender well?
