Tint?

i am getting tints pretty soon but i dont know what will look good, i cant really get much in the drivers and passenger windows since those are 100% illigal here in IL. i was thinking a light amount in the front and pretty dark in the back, would go with my color? can someone give me some good percents of tint or Pros and Cons of having tint? whats the price range around for all 5 windows? sorry for all these questions

thanks guys

i say 35 all around, its not too dark where they cant still see you inside which is why dark tint is illegal

35 got me pulled over here. id say like 40 on front, and then like 15-20 in the back... i wish now i had darker in the back, but its bubbleing so ill probably take it off soon anyway and get it re-done. be careful of illinois. we are really strick on tint. if you get one tint ticket, and then get another, on any vehicle, its like a 500 fine. be careful cause now im screwed if i drive someone elses car w/ tint. 35 up front is too much

Get 20% or 35% but don't mix them unless you only want the rear windshield to be darker. When you decide to get you know to let me or hector know, we'll take care of you. I'd only get 35% you live in the burbs. I had 20% and it was pretty light even though my interior was all black.

As far as looking good and avoiding the pork squad as much as possible, I'd say so.

I still disagree. If cops see tint they'll pull you over no matter how dark it is. If it's illegal they'll get you.

Around here most cops are lazy, I saw a dude change lanes in the middle of an intersection and cutting off a cop at the same time and nothing happened, so what they do when they see your tints is they look up your plate in their little POPO PC and see if you have any tickets or are on probation. If you don't, they'll usually leave you alone. If you do, they'll stop you.

You deserved it. Put on your seatbelt and they won't do jack. It's that simple.

Thanks for the advice, dad.

Everyone forgets it sometimes. I'm sure you don't wear yours ALL the time. It was bad timing "It's that simple."

I Live in Edmonton Alberta Canada and our cops are SUPER STRICT. My wife was at the gym one day and as she was leaving, this cop pulled her over (for the tint). She got nailed with not having an updated d.l., tint on the front, accessory lighting being activated while the car was in motion and one other thing i can't remember right now.
That sucked. for tint, I went with 35%in the front and 20% in the rear. not too much difference from the outside and lets in a good amount of light still.
I don't regret it at all.

that doesn't cops anymore; at least around here. I used to carry an eye doctor's note to show to them when I get pulled over for my tints but now, I have to get a form from Secretary of State, have my eye doctor fill it out, take the form back to secretary of state and get then SOS will have something writen under restrictions. To most of the eye doctor, it's a hassle because it's a long form.

RIP OFF! Wow.... I would say $170 should be the most anyone should ask. I was quoted at $140 for any style/percentage.

Do they figure the natural "tint" of the glass into the film percentage? I had them check it when I got my inspection and it came to like 91.xx%. 35% is the legal limit here, does that mean I have to get 44%?

I never forget, never. Whether I'm driving or not my seatbelt is always on. After you do it so many times it becomes routine to put it on. Of course I don't put it on when I go around drive my car from the street to the garage to work on it, but gimme a break.
