I know this has been posted a million times, but still having trouble with this. I'll keep looking but if anyone can point me in the right direction, I'd appreciate. Ought to be a sticky, if it isn't already. Saw directions on how to change them, just not which ones you need or where to buy them.


Looking to change out the back lighting in the guage cluster of my 96 Max. Want to do all bulbs in guage cluster, lights in the doors on driver and passenger side, and also the overhead light. How many and what size bulbs do I need? Are they all 194's? 5 in the dash correct? From what I understand, I need about 9 #194 white led wedge bulbs. Any further assistance would be greatly appreciated.

 

yeup .. you need 5 #194's for the guage and one each for the door. the overhead light is not 194, i forgot what it's called. the map light is m26, i forgot the overhead.

 

do we use 194 on the keyring?

 

no, keyring is a led, just get a resistor and a led

 

if you put white leds in your gauge cluster it will be purple.the best bulb i have found to be pure white for the gauge cluster is piaa xtreme and second would be polarg

im working on putting in LEDs under the guages in my 96 max. ive put 5 LEDs directly under the guage faces, and then im going to back it all up with 5 wedge LED 194 bulbs. best thing for dome light is to put like 8-10 LEDs in there, stock bulb sucks.
