Pros of 5th gen vs. 3rd gen and 5 ot 5.5 better?
Hello,
I currently have a low mileage '89 Max that I am rather attached to. It needs a bit of work to get it road worthy though, and I am looking to mod it and get the most performance out it after that. The only downer is that with such an old car it is hard to find many good performance and aesthetic upgrades for it. I definitely like the look of the 5th gens, but I have some questions I would like answered to better inform my buying decision before I get one.

You're 30 yrs old and trying to compare the aesthetics and performance of a 16 yr old car vs. 2-3 yr old car? Maybe you want to buy yourself a car that is roadworthy at first, and then be thinking about the mods...
Coming from a person that has upgraded to a 5th gen, trust me, I loved my 3rd gen, but you are very limited to the upgrades to the car both with looks and performance. You have to get alot of things that aren't for you car and make it fit, the 5th gen is so much better in so many ways. Sometimes you just gotta know when to let it go! I still love the way the 3rd gen looks though! But the 5th gen is just much easier!
