Just Got My New Max

Its a 97 maxima, with a Pioneer headunit. cloth interior, sunroof, spoiler, 16" chrome rims, 145,000 miles, gold nissan emblem on grill and trunk, no foglights, chrome door handles, black face gauges.

I just wanted to know what kinda model i got, is it a GXE or GLE? and which has more options, my identification # on da car says BLHULEAA32EUADB-F-.

You made an identicle post in the 4th Gen forum and we nailed it down as a GXE, if you didn't notice.

It's a GXE, no question about it, the base model. Bread and Butter!

I'm not convinced. It could be a theft salvage of a GLE which is why it has some GLE features, but cloth seats. Think about it...it has the gold package and a moonroof. The wheels, headunit, and seats could have been stolen and were replaced. GLEs had chrome door handles and foglights were not standard.

I read the 4th Gen post and nothing was concluded that it was a GXE.

Even the VIN number that the original poster posted is not a standard number. Looks like a reissued VIN. Ours should start with JN1xxxx

By decoding that #, the sixth symbol denotes Maxima "status". Being that your letter is an "E" , you have a GXE. Plain and simple.

On a similiar note, why does it matter? If you don't have ALL the features of a GLE, why would you want to just be able to say you have a GLE?

If the interior was leather interior then it would be a GLE. But I know its a GXE, because my max came with the gold trim.

Even if its a theft salvage the options dont matter, do you not think if the car was stolen and it was salvaged that the theives didnt take the interior with them?

Either way, dont think too hard on it, differences between GXE/SE/GLE arent much at all.
