Should I toss them or not?

OK, here's the deal. I am running out of garage space. I've got my OEM SE springs sitting in a large box, taking up a ton of room, and I'm seriously considering tossing them in the trash. I am fairly sure if I ever sell my Maxima, I'll be selling to someone who will appreciate the car as it is, mods and all. Therefore, keeping the OEM springs is just a waste of space. What do you guys think? Does anyone every really sell their OEM springs successfully (for more than a few measly bucks)? Thanks in advance for your opinions and input.

Paint them a bright color, cut a coil off them and put them on Ebay as lowering springs...

J/K
Just toss them if you do not have the room. If you have no intentions of going back to stock why keep them.
Seems like it would a bit of a hassle to box and ship them, I wouldnt imagine yo would get much if you sold them, but you never know.

I always like to have my stock parts. but worst comes to worst if you have to return your car to stock you can find someone willing to trade.

Yea I always keep my stock parts too. You never know if something happens and you want to sell your car and make an extra few bucks on your mods by making your car stock again.

ALWAYS keep your stock parts, you never know if you will need them OR if someone else might need them.

Throw them in the attic or basement or something.. never know when you'll need them. I snapped the top off a Tokico strut several years ago and lucky for me I had a factory strut in my garage at home.. had a friend drive me over there and get it, then swapped them out and was back running...

If you really want to get rid of it, throw them on ebay.. people will buy anything on there!

Well, I guess I'll try and sell 'em. If that doesn't work out, then out they go.

I would sell it on ebay, I'm sure there are people willing to buy it. Like someone once said, turn trash into cash.

Put them up for sale. That is what I do. I have a very small garage at the moment and this limits what I can keep. I still keep most things. Next year we're gonna be working in a 3000+sq ft building so I can keep Godzilla if I want. Speaking of OEM parts, I have tons of stuff if anybody needs anything. Check out the link in sig.

I sold my stock GXE springs/struts with 130k on them for $100 (they picked up) to someone who bought a lowered max but wanted stock height/ride. That was about 1 year ago.
I sold my Altima struts with 150k on them for $50+ship. The springs are still here tho. Anybody want them?

I recently sold my stock 99 SE springs to an Orger who wanted to restore his lowered Maxima to stock height for a more comfortable ride. I sold them for about $60 shipped, which is not much but certainly worth my keeping them.

What are you talking about, large box? All 4 springs fit in a box that was about 18"x18"x6". You just stack the rears inside the fronts. They take up almost no space at all!

Damn, this thread got me thinking, where the hell did my stock rear suspension go? I think I left them at an Audi dealership's garage when I used their lifts. I guess I have some front shocks and springs to sell....

You could keep them incase a spring breaks (like that member who posted about his dropzones) if one goes out, while you wait for warantee to replace or buying a new one your car wont be undrivable, you could install stock back on until you got your replacements.

But if you truely dont see that happening or have to money to order new springs immediately + ship them fast then, sell them that extra money in your pocket for whatever.

when I lower, I'm going to sand them down, paint them Red or Black and sell them on ebay.

I dont know why I keep them, but I do. I have 3 sets of lowering springs, 3 sets of stockers, a bunch of mounts and struts.

I have them in the box that my H&R springs came in, and it's a farily large box, trust me on that one. Discussion about box sizes aside, my garage is stuffed to beyond capacity, so I'm looking at EVERYTHING as potentially expendable. I do plan on keeping the stock shocks in case one of the Illumina's blows however.

I don't really understand how people are so dependant on their cars that they can't stand to be without them for one week. I have been without my car for over three months and I'm unhindered in where I want to go. Keeping OEM parts is not to be able to fix broken stuff. If stuff is broken on my car I simply fix it. Why waste the time to put the stock part back on when you'll just have to undo and redo it the next week? But then again I live in a small city so getting around isn't hard because my friends live close.

JStutter, you have a lot of money sitting there. Why not consolidate it into one mod rather than unused parts? I'd guess you have roughly $400 in resellable parts right there. I can think of at least a dozen things I plan on buying for $400.

This is a really dumb thread. Stock springs are maybe 16" high and 4" wide. You can put the rears inside the fronts and they take up little room. What is happening here? Next you'll be asking us what shoes you should wear cause some look better with the pants you're wearing. Seriously, this is dumb. This is a car forum not a freakin' house decorating forum.
