Chrome Trim Around Wheels on a 99 GLE

Did this ever come stock?? I have chrome trim around the wheel wells on my 99 GLE and it's kind of an eye sore. Anyone else have this? I only found one other post talking about chrome around the wheel wells and he mentioned it was aftermarket and WIDE. This is thin. . .a LITTLE thinner then the chrome around the windows. I've never found a pic of another Max with this though. If this is aftermarket, it should be asy to remove. . .if not. . .then I guess I have to leave it or use blackout tape. I can't imagine the blackout tape looking good though? Anybody have pictures of chrome coverups they did with tape?

Thanks guys!

It is definitely aftermarket. Taking it off shouldn't be too bad, but can't say that I've had any experience with it. Has anyone ever taking off chrome trim from the fenders and qpanels??

thanks for the quick reply! I thought i was going nuts. It looks like it's stock. . .whoever did it did a perfect job on it if it's aftermarket. Why anyone would do that, though, is beyond me. I mean, people like us are usually the ones that do aftermarket visual mods. . .and we're usually looking for ways to take OFF chrome. . .WEIRD.

Maybe the dealer put it in? Car also has a pinstripe. . .so maybe that was an extra "trip package" that the dealership offered?

I hope it's easy to take off!
