motor numbers
Hey guys, I have found a guy who has a motor with supposedly 70k on it, is there anything that can be told about the motor from the numbers on it? If so where are they located? I don't know for sure if there are any, I just know that GM motors used to have different numbers that told a lot. I really am wondering if i can identify if the motor was infact a dealer install as he claims or if it was one pulled from a car.. I guess its sketchy anyway, I just viewed it as a chance to pick up a spare. please let me know if i can learn anything from it. thanks
there is a vin number on the block you should be able to look up I believe.
if not then you'll have to examine the motor to try and see if you spot anything out of the ordinary or that doesnt look right.
is the motor still in the car? or its out already (if its in try and get a compression test dont, plus starting it up and listening can tell alot about the engine as well)
