Berk Intake Installation

I just got the berk intake with the apexi filter for my 02, but the rubber type connectors are too small to fit over anything on the car. Did they send me the wrong kit? I've struggled with it for some time now

No, I don't think so. I believe you're referring to the silicon couplers and those do take some exertion to stick on; they don't just slide on there. They're supposed to be really tight.

I had to force mine on with my Injen as well. Just eat some spinach before you start working on it!

I just don't see how it can fit. I've even tried to shave down the lip from the coupler on the apexi filter, then I realized, even if I do accomplish that, there is no way I am going to be able to get it on the manifold.

don't worry bro....it will fit...i have the exact same setup as yers (BERK/APEX-I)....and OMG it was a PITA to install.....i'd say the whole thing took over 2hrs when it should only take like 45 minutes....i had the HARDEST time getting those stiff *** couplers on my max....

just keep trying...and ask a friend to help you....use a screwdriver of some sort to hold one end of the coupler then try to slide it in....thats how i did it

oh ya u will love the intake when it hits VI (around 3800-3900RPM)......sounds like an S2000 VTEC switch over

I did it by hand....

Once ya get one "edge" of the coupler over the IM, just stick your fingers in the opposing edge, tug really hard, and push the coupler over the IM... that was the hard part.... getting the coupler on the MAF housing wasn't too hard, but ya still have to use some force....

Had the same problem... make sure you warm them up with a hair dryer before install, it makes them expand a little and much more flexible. Good luck and enjoy!
