there arent many recent annoying stupid questions asked here on .org. looks like ill have to do the job..

ive asked many questions earlier, got all the help i needed and all the knowledge, thank you all, guys.

car lost power a while ago, thats a given but i got used to it. when i read some maxima stories, expecially about the one where maxima had 4 people in it, and ran about 105mph, it made me ask this:

when i have a friend or two in my car, and as im entering the freeway on a flat road, no gradual ramps or anything, it take the car about a minute to get up to 60 or 70mph. as i see a line of cars behind me, waiting for me to go faster, i press the pedal further, rpm goes somewhere to 3000s and the car speeds up gradually but a bit faster, and were rolling.

the thing is, it starts smelling real bad. sometimes it smells like burnt oil, and sometimes it smells like fireworks afterscent. i know its not supposed to be like that. on regular roads, that doesnt happen much, but when it comes to freeways, especially with other people, it happens every time. slow acceleration and bad smell.

you know its bad when your friend's early 90s accord full of people passes you right by going 60 or 70mph while youre trying to get up to 50 in a ****ing MAX.

please, give some suggestions.. im going to have my injectors cleaned for a $40 in a couple weeks, but im sure that wont help much. i think this is something more serious, the smell of burnt fireworks or burnt oil on freeway, that isnt good.

I would guess a clogged catalytic converter.

 

how much oil is your engine leaking?

 

none. just did the oil change today too, added some lucas oil stabilizer instead of one of the quarts of castrol gtx.

there seems to be no oil leaks. just oil smell. what are other symptoms for a clogged cat? i might need a new one.
