Is it just me or does it seem like the MAXIMA and the nissan symbol on the back were pasted on the car like a 3rd grader...also the taillights offend me....muwhahahhaha!

 

i'm stumped as to what trim that is...

it could be SE, but se's came with fogs...

it could be GLE, but GLE's came with climate control...

I dont think those options were available for a GXE...

I think this car was a SE that was involved in an accident, and they just replaced the front/rear bumpers, and did a crappy job.

Plus it appears there is no spoiler and no brake light in the back window?? I be it is just a trunk off of a 95-96?

 

Its a GXE, SE brings the white faced guages, I See no foglight switch on the steering column switches thing on the left..

I think the rear was just crashed, and replaced witha 95/96 trunk/lights.

Its a 95/96 trunk because it has that little curve, 97+ are flat.

ALSO SE's dont have chrome door handles =) therefor GXE!

 

Since it has all the interior wood trim and BOSE, that makes it a GLE. But, it's clearly a salvage repair. It's got the wrong trunk lid and the wrong grill.

 

Looks like a 97 GLE.

The car was not painted. The ugly strip is still there.

 

Sweet ride. I have seen a couple of Maxima's on Ebay with mismatched tails like that. What a horrible Frankenstien creation.

Its a GXE with a 95/96 trunk. The maxima letters are different on the 97 trunk and the white part of the lights is on bottom on 97+ trunks. It can't be a gle because it has chrome door handles and no climate control which was standard on gle's its not an se because it has doesn't have white gauges, a spoiler fogs BUUUUT!!! hears the clinchers... Did gxe's even come with leather? EVER? as even an option? If not then this is like 3 or more maxes in one lol. I saw we call it a GSX and stay away from it lol

 

GSX it is, all GLE's came with auto climate control, and the manual climate cannot be switched without some wizard doing it, too much trouble....

Has to be a frankenstien GXE... :\

 

regarding Bose, some GXE's had them. I've only seen 3 so far on dealer lots that are GXE's with Bose and sunroof, but no automatic climate contro, passenger power seats, or leather seats.

I would like to think the car above is a GLE that was in a crash and somehow the automatic climate control was swapped with a manual one from a 95-96 donator car that apparently supplied the trunk like also, even though the seller says just the tails are wrong. I don't think the seller can be trusted.

 

P!ss poor....I wouldn't pay $3000 for that....with 200,000 miles on it, and a body that obviously hasnt been fixed correctly, who knows what kind of problems you'll run into?

 

I seriously wouldn't even pay $1000.....well maybe for the good working parts...hehe

Did anybody else notice that the pictures were all dated 1/05/2002. Either they are old pictures or he doesn't know how to set his camera either.

 

Yeah something's definetlty shady about this Max. Between the dirt in the interior and the filth in the engine bay, this Max wasn't taken care of. ANd highly likely that it was in an accident. As for a mix-up at the DMV...wouldn't you try to have that taken care of if there was an error like that?

Horrible re-built wreck.

Anyways that is a '97 GLE with an SE Grille (because the front end has been smashed in), and a 95-96 trunk lid w/lights (because the rear end has been smashed in).
