I was pulling out of a driveway, going 1-2 mph, and as my car dropped to main street (about 4 1/2 inches) my passenger front bumper dropped right on a rock. The impact, which was only a slight jostle, resulted in my front bumper detaching and falling to the ground from the passenger side while still hanging/attached from the driver's side.
I pushed the bumper back into place along with a bungee cord to hold into place, but now at night I can't tell how fast I'm going, how much gas I have, etc., b/c my dashboard light no longer illuminates; even though my outside headlights and turn signals work fine. Any suggestions.

Check fuses and the fuse box....also check the dimmer (maybe you mistakenly moved it)

 

Fuses are all working and dimmer light is on. . .

 

Why is your bumper falling off, sound like you have a POS that has some kind of body damage. As far as the dash cluster, you probably have a bad circuit which need replacing the cluster.

 

I live in Chicago where we have been experiencing 10s highs for the past month, hence, I presume that my plastic bumper has become brittle and the hard jostle from landing on the lawn rock in the just the right (for me wrong) place resulted in my bumper detaching itself from the passenger's side. NOW neither my dashboard light work nor my tail lights when the head lights come on.

All systems were working fine until my bumper fell off detaching the fog lamp wires.
