ST sway bar bracket
ST sway bar bracket
When I bought my sway bars julio never sent me the brackets so I made my own. I did this way back in october but just bought a digital camera today. Now that I look at the picture I think im going to extend the piece to reach and bolt to the original sway bar bolt hole. So my question is do you think this bracket will work fine when I run autocross and do you think the trailing arm bolt will ever break. The bracket is similar to how the addco bracket works. I just dont want to have to get the original bracket for the ST because I dont like how I have to unbolt the trailing arm bracket and I dont want to break or snap those bolts that hold it to the strut housing because it would be a huge pain to have to drill out and tap. ( i did this before on my gxe not fun) give me your opinion
the bracket looks crooked but its just the pic

anyone ever try having a bigger bar bent to match an ST sway bar like 25mm or bigger?

Matt would know better, but I would guess that that bolt wouldn't break, since it has to be strong enough to locate the rear suspension front and back through all the impacts and stuff that people put their cars through.
You might really look into getting an Addco bar though, since it is thicker (7/8" vs. 3/4") and also mounts to the stock location.... I have a personal theory that it has a lot more roll resistance than the ST bar because it is both thicker, and also has shorter "arms" due to its closer mounting location, which also makes it stiffer. Unproven, but makes sense to me.

i was thinking about either the addco or the intrax they are both 7/8 but i figured maybe make a bar that is 25mm which is basically 1in ill talk to my boss he owns a machine and fab shop and maybe ill get a monstorous bar (ill call it the harvbar haha)
as for the trailing arm bolt it has plenty of thread so ill play around with a different bracket length maybe even get a longer bolt so i can put a washer on it and have more thread
not only did julio not send me the brackets but it took him over a month to send the bars and all the hardware was f-d up all broken so i had to buy all new bushings and bolts for the front
