So after a big long drawn out ordeal on painting my spare third gen.. I'm going to do it myself. I have the booth, equipment, etc.. so don't worry about that.. I'm just looking for input on color options. Currently pearl white and black... I like silver.. but someone turned me onto the idea of a blue.. perhaps the new AE maxima blue or the skyline blue.. any cool shades of blue you guys can think of?.. Whatever color will be a PPG blend and the matte trim at the bottom of the doors is going away. The car will be riding (for a bit) on some charcoal/gunmetal sprayed OZ rims.. So what are your thoughts?? ps.. my mercury is getting sprayed shelby blue with black mesh BBS (w/ polished lip) racing rims... so my toys will match .. hehe..

Yo McBee, where ya been hiding?

Long time no see. Guess ya always on the 3rd gen board, ha?

Hey have you seen the new Audi S4 blue?
or the GS400 blue?
M3 silver would be fly!
Or some kind of opague sand like puter color? w/ bronze wheels!!

My car is going thru a paint job right now.
I'll post some pics when the project gets done.

Help Eben find a date for this maxus thing soon!
I won't be able to just wake up and go like last year.
Need some time ahead to plan vacation time.
come on, we know you're da man!

later.

Ahh hello gentlemen...Ming and Dave...

Ahh.. well have been hiding at work/school! hehe.. they monitor my net access pretty heavy at my job so I kinda lay off on it.. check email but no posting on the BBS's.. haven't been on the 3rd gen BBS much either.. my semesters wrapping up.. just landed a couple gigs that I'd rather not discuss at the moment.. (lets just say its national and you'll all be able to see my stuff...)... umm other than that.. not much.. I hadn't thought about the IS blue.. I think its similar to the skyline stuff.. hmmmm who knew there were so many shades of the same color of blue!! hard to compare unless you see em in person.. I know VW has a sweet blue color out this year (saw one at the dealership as I drove by this evening..) Oh well.. I'll decide shortly..

Dave, the Mercury.. hehe its my "toy".. a 78 mercury zephyr (aka a ford fairmont) 2 door "post" (hardtop.. not the "sweepback Z-7 style).. very sleeper looking but can be fun.. its getting a 285HP crate 5.0L motor.. its already got a c-4 in it.. and the rear ends coming from my 86GT (posi-lock 8.8").. I'm going with 86GT seats in grey.. the rest of the interior is being redyed in a dark charcoal color and I'm buidling custom door panels.. I already have the motor (sourced from a friend.. less than 2K miles on it ...he's putting in a 351C)... it should be done before too long.. my bro's going to end up driving it mostly.. then I'll probably have to get another "project" (something import) for my new gig.. gotta have some "tech" stuff to work with... but it's still my hot rod cruiser... full mustang underpinnings... custom making a G-trac brace and fstb... it'll be fun when its done.. I'm in a job at the moment that once schools out I'll only be at for 3 days a week.. that leaves me 4 days for "playing" and my other gig.. that fill you guys in good enough?? Dave.. give shoot me an email maxtoy@usa.net and I'll get you my new work #...
