A buddy of mine has a chip in his Honda and I was wondering if there is a chip for the Maxima. I think he said the one he has in his honda is good for around 50hp. So I was just wondering if any were available for the Maxima. If so how much do they run. Oh and are they bad for your engine like the SC and NOS? Will it shorten the life of the engine? Thanks

JWT and UPRD are the best, I'm prolly preferring UPRD. Only for 95-96 ECU's though =(

However, you can put a 95-96 in a 97 and kinda hybrid it.

Well Lime sorry to tell ya that the 98 ECU is even different than the 97, and for now there is no real ECU upgrades for the 98 =(

However, I took a look at sugoi.net because I speak Japanese (even though I'm white) and was like woh that's pretty cool.

Damn nice page, well done, just thought you deserve some compliments on that. Nice car too!

Thanks for the Info BrianV. How much do they run do you know? ANd what does hybrid it mean? And does it make the engine have a shorter life like the NOS and the SC do? Thanks

noooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
suckiness. now my poor car will never get an ECU upgrade. (sniffle)

hehe thanks for the compliments. I too speak a bit of japanese. I took it for 1 year in college. I'm like a kindergarderner as compared to the Japanese population hehe.

I rarely get to use my Japanese.

50 HP ? I find that hard to believe

I don't think it's possible for a simple chip change to give you 50Hp. Maybe along with an intake, an exhaust, and maybe even a little cam work, OK - but not just a chip.

If a chip could get 50hp, why would Nissan do all that work on the motor to get just 37hp more for the 2000 model ?

The only way a chip would give that big of an increase is if it was installed in a turbo car. N/A cars can expect maybe 5-10 hp. Remember, a chip just changes the way the computer controls the car.(shift points, rev limiter, governers, etc.)
