just keep a good coat of wax on your wheels, makes them much easier to clean, i use a couple of coats of liquid glass topped with meguiars #16, than to clean just use eagle one a2z and wipe with a sponge.

Yes you can use a wax or sealant on chrome wheels too.
I have FourStar UPP x2 and Meg's #16 x2 on my wheels, and brake dust has a very hard time sticking to the wheels. To clean them, I just use the usual car soap and water solution.

I just received my new wheels today (2K2 17s) and I did this...

Clean with car soap
Clean with P21S Wheel Cleaner
Clay
Klasse All In One
Wolfgang sealant
The wheels are VERY smooth right now, and I am very confident that brake dust will have met its match here.

The wheels will get a total of 5 coats of WG sealant in the next week, and maybe a coat of Meg's #16 to finish it off.

Brake dust is the result of the brake pads wearing while squeezing the brake rotor to stop your car. You'll notice it as a grey / black powder on your wheels. It can be a pain to get off if you let it build up.
