Well I had a shop goof up a wheel stud when puting my rims on a long time ago and got a quote of $50 to fix it. Well F-that, floor jack $18, jack stands $10, stud $1.50, bar of soap $0.99. Felt nice to fix it on my own, esp. now that I know how easy it is to change ur brakes too. If I was doing it again i could do it in 40min, and if I ever had to do it to some one eleses car I bet i could do it in 25min Also painted my front calipers silver while the wheels were off, looks damn cool to me.

Welcome to the world of doing it yourself! You will find that you will usually do it better than most mechanics because you care more about doing it right than doing it quickly. As you found out, by saving the labor costs, you can add to your tools inventory. If you continue with that approach, you'll soon have just about every tool you'll ever need.

HEY! Just the person I need to talk to...
I just had a front wheel stud sheared off when I was getting my tires rotated/balanced...
Do you have any step by step instructions on how to do it?
