New starter, engine light on?

I replaced the starter yesterday in my car, drove it home and noticed the engine light was on. I have not had the time to go out to my car and check the codes, reset the ecu, etc.

I will have time tomorrow, but i am anxious to find out what its whining about.

Could it possibly be because the ecu detected a change (new starter) and is freaking out, thus I would have to just reset the ecu?

Just fixed one problem, I dont want another to pop up the instant I solve the first one!

I had the same thing happen and I had the starter replaced. You have to reset the codes. I did and mine hasn't come back on since.

Pulled the codes, it was the knock sensor (common) and the air temp sensor in the intake. They went off because I tested the starter with the intake removed, thus the air intake sensor was not plugged in.

I reset the ecu and the lights gone.
