Back 2 Stock muffler??

Hey guys.
I've got the warpspeed y with a custom catback and obx exhaust.
Also a warm air hybrid intake.

Accelerating off the line makes the car sounds very droggy...
Also, cruising sounds very drowning...

Its okay for the car to be loud at WOT, but is there a way to reduce the level of sound?

I was thinking about putting back on the stock muffler.
Would that eliminate the sound a lot?
Or would it not be much different since I have removed the resonator in the cat back and because I don't have stock intake...

Loud used to be really cool and still is when driving a bit enthusiatically and when I'm alone.
But lately and also in the future, I will have passengers in my car and I'm not comfortable with them listening to my exhaust sound.

Plus, with gas rates the way they are.. it's kinda costly to rev up past 3000.

Anyway... any experiences with different exhaust setup is welcomed.

I am kinda in the same boat right now:

http://forums.maxima.org/showthread.php?t=379416

Thinking about going back to stock (without the small hole i have right now) since you still get the gains of the b and y pipe. The stock muffler doesnt take away from the power from what they say and from what my butt dyno tells me. Feels the same on accelleration to me right now. Not alot of feed back on a aftermarket muffler that is compairable in sound or just slightly louder so far.

whats up guys? what exactly is a resonator and do we need one?
Im looking to get a y-pipe from obx(headers and ypipe combo for about 399$), a highflow cat off ebay and a catback(not sure which one i want yet but will read these forums carefully to decide).
Im just trying to fill up my brain with important info.

Thanks

Do not go the cheap route with car parts I tried it one time when I bought my Ypipe now I have a terrible sound and im going to end up buying a brand new more expensive one and wasteing another 300 bucks so make sure you do it right. I would get a cattman Ypipe no doubt. But thats just me. I dont know about anyone using headers from obx or anything just another cattman thing for me hehe but they are around 800+ for the combo (header+ypipe) Ebay you have to be very very certain on what your buying cause theres allot of CRAP sold for cars fyi

Get a resonator first. That helped my exhaust tremendously. If it's still too loud then I guess just go back to the stock muffler or get a stock 5th gen muffler.

How well would the stock 5th gen muffler fit? And would it actually make any sound/power difference?

the obx headers have some major fitment problems, the cats off ebay you probably woun't pass emissions off, just remember that

all I know is that you gotta weld a flange on the back of the 5 gen muffler to get it to fit and a new one is like big bucks ($360 where i checked).
