Custom Turbo Project. Intrested Step in.....

I and Alex on the org are currently doing a custom turbo fabrication. We are trying to find people to work as a team to create custom turbo piping. We are currently brain storming on what setup to use. I have talked to couple machine shops on bending and welding of the pipes. So we are in the clear on that part. We are trying to get much people as possible so its cheaper. I (myself) Live in Pennsylvania. People from NY, NJ, PA, CT, MD or around here are welcome to join.

Yes its not gonna break the bank. Once we have the 1st one welded and a good blue print, the next few will be cheap. Think like this you pay for pipping (Not Expensive at all.) and you pay the machine shop to get welded and bent. So i am figuring between $500-700 TOPS* for all the pipes and labor. So all you need is the turbo components. Anyone intrested in purchasing please let me know once we have solid blueprint.

So what your saying is your going to have a turbo feed pipe with the wastegate flange on it and the turbo flange on it, the pipes going to the intercooler, the pipes coming from the intercooler and going into the throttle body, and the down pipe feeding into the stock exhaust for $700?

Well there is no wat to feed into stock exhaust it would be an 3 inch exhaust alont with it. And eventualy we will be able to variate between the flanges for the turbo that poeple would want. O and about the price we are not sure how much its goin to run but its going to be less then $1000 for sure

Ok... you really need to type in english.. my relpies will be much faster when I don't have to use my secret decoder ring to figure out what your saying

No way to feed into stock exhaust? REALLY? I think it's been done.

So you'll get a 3 inch exhaust as well for less than $1000?

Ok, so what about the wastegate flange?

So what turbo flange will be on there for the ones that don't get to choose?

Yes we are in the process of making a setup that will be 99% bolt on (Plug and Plug). We are currently doing it on a 5 speed. As you already know the battery has to be relocated. I am trying to fabricate the turbo setup without relocating other major components. When its all done (near future) it will be shipped if we get enough customers and get more orders it will be cheaper. But our main concern as of now is getting a real good idea of what setup will work the best with minimal turbo lag in other words we wana beet HAL. LOL

I know i can get what you see there for less money than you think an aftermarket y-pipe modified. Credit goes to Mike for the org. After the intercooler you can go to your local Home Depot and make your custon intercooler pipes out of PVC pipes. When you have that completed you can buy turbo acc. etc.

well lets get this going... im auto and i would deff be in for at least 1 kit if not 2 tax returns are great. anyway being automatic i hope you guys have an auto to test fit on first of all. all i want is the uppipe with wastegate flange and the t3/t4 hybrid flange, downpipe that is able to bolt on to a 2.5" cat (CM testpipe) i think the stock cat is 2.5 though so idk if you can get these made up im willing to do $550ish shipped to WI cant i just buy some bends and make intercooler piping insted of copping out and using pvc? is there somewhere i can just buy a set of piping for that with couplers and everything? -Ryan

they sell pre bent pipes in 90 degrees. If you need a bigger angle just cut it. Less of an angle just add 2 together.

If you are that serious about turboing your Maxima, lay out something around $10,000. $5k for a kit and installation, $2k for a 5 speed swap and the remainder for tuning/breakdowns etc.

By the sound of it, your gonna need to do ALOT of research before just throwing yourself into the turbo league. There is alot to know about turbo's, they way the function and maintenance.

Ok.. so it's not "So i am figuring between $500-700 TOPS* for all the pipes and labor. So all you need is the turbo components."

Using the above statement, you made it seem like ALL the piping would be taken care of, it will not be. You may wanna clarify that.

And by turbo acc do you mean a wastegate? or are you using an interanl one?

Well even 5spds will fail. you can try cyro treating your auto tranny. It will help. But yes converting to a 5spd would be a VERY wise decision

So let me get this straight, your saying nobody has used the stock exhaust on a turbocharged maxima?

And knowledge=spelling and grammer in some cases

ok, but you and t-man keep throwing numbers out there. He said tops of $700, then you said $1000, now your backing away from that. Don't post a guess, post real numbers.
