99s have the same body as the 95-98. So with suspension and most power mods stick with 95-99.

However their ECUs, emission setups, and y pipes are closer to 00-01. You have to be a little careful. Read up and figure out what will fit your car before you buy something that doesn't fit.

be careful, some 99 parts need to be 00-01. Cat-back exhaust is a good example. I forget the difference, but I do know that I couldn't use a cat-back off a SE-L on my 98 without modding it. It was too bad, cause it was a great deal!

Yea, I tried putting my exhaust on my 99 today, and the b-pipe was about 6 in. too short. Its a Megan and is listed for 95-99 maximas, but came up short coming off the cat. I'm going to have an exhaust shop weld me an extension to make it fit.

If you have a SE-L, 99.5 maxima, suspension will not fit from a 95-99 maxima. When I was researching stuff for my car I saw that 99.5-2001.2003 didn't fit 96-99.

I got a 1999 SEL; got it a year ago; how can I find out if it is just 99 or 99.5?
Maybe calling a Nissan dealer and ask them to check with the vin #?
However is a Cali specs; so Y pipe upgrade will be useless along with other mods; who knew.

Build dates after March of '99 IIRC uses the parts from 00-01...
