2001 AE Y pipe, Federal Spec / California Spec???

HI all,
I just call up budget ordered Y pipe for my 2001 Maxima AE. The customer rep told me that mine is California spec, and not Federal Spec for sure. I just trust him and ordered it right away.

I just got under my car, and see that it is suppose to be Federal Spec, because i saw precat on the vertical direction for the front engine block (the one close to front grile). Just want to make sure that hes information is correct. Do your 2001 Maxima using California spec?

Thanks for your help guys.

most likely it is a cali spec. open your hood and look at the sensors on the front of your motor.

this page has the diagram of a cali spec car.

Some 2000s are fed spec. Like Larrio said, all cars MY2001 or newer are cali spec.

Thanks a lot for your guys help, I found my car is cali spec by looking the oxygen sensors. There are 4 of them, so it is cali spec.

Hey Adi, I just got my Budget Y-pipe and test pipe on the car last night. It feels incredible and the sound with the test pipe is SWEET! The test pipe was well worth the 18 bucks and it is the best mod for the money I have put on my car so far (I am really into the nice deep tone). You will be very happy....btw, did you mention to them that you were an Org member, because they are giving free shipping to Org members.

Mine is suppose to be sent today, and i shall receive it by wednesday next week. I just really couldn't wait that long. Yeah i got $205 shipped. What makes me cry is that you get only $18 for the test pipe? I bought from custom enterprise for that racing pipe for $110 shipped. What a stupid decission I bought that at the first time because local shop charge me $50 for making a test pipe, and by $110 i got the resonanted one. Any way $18 is the bestttttttttt mod man. I can even feel the difference after changing the catalytic converter only.
Thanks for your info.

Ya, for the ypipe and test pipe combo, I think the bill was around $224. The only thing that I wasn't real happy with Budget was the fact they didn't send any of the bolts or new gaskets for the test pipe, just the pipe itself with the flanges. But after spending a buck or two on new 14mm bolts and washers, and reusing the old gaskets, it sounds and feels great! I will have to figure out a way to get a video of it posted.
