Weird clickidy clack from 0-5MPH?

I got a strange clicking noise when i accel from a complete stop to 5mph. At first I thought it was my bad CV joint but after replacing both CV's the noise still persists. It makes a clicking noise alot in Downtown seattle with all the stop and go traffic. Any ideas?

I drive a 96 Auto

Coming from front or rear? Those sounds can be deceiving.

From the rear...I'd say something with the rear lateral link...other than that..I dunno (I have the same thing type of thing, except from the rear).

the noise is denfenetly coming from the front. It almost sounds like its coming from deadcenter between the 2 front wheels

I have the same noise. Come from kind of the right side. I think it's something to do with loose undercarriage (exhaust piping, etc.) and the pressure going through them.

I'm gonna go to the shop soon and ask what the deal is with it and if you guys are still left with no answer by then.. I'll fill you in.

well, just the other day my right front drive axle broke and before it broke it was making a noise like that. (oh yeah and after it broke off it hit my tranny fluid pan and broke that too along with a few other things that i now need to get fixed) so it might be a good idea to get it checked out... just a heads up..

I cant feel it or hear it when im slowing down or when im creepin with the brake. Maybe you have a different problem?. It only hear it click when i accelerate gently from 0mph to 5 (if i accel too fast i wont hear it over the engine noise)

It could be your drive axle. Check out this page from Raxles website --> http://www.raxles.com/troubleshooting.aspx

Try This!!!!!

I had the same problem a while ago, a small click click below 5 mph on right sime and other sime later.

MY PROBLEM WAS :

the small cap that cover that driveaxe nut (the one with the locking pin on it) was loose and was making this strange noise,
also
my brake pad to that sometime like if the pad was loose in its sockets

Hope this help

hate to tell ya guys, but mine does the sound when making slow speed stops ( hardly pressing the brake but alittle press) and goes away when hot, meaning when in traffic and stoping alot everything gets hot brakes and rotors (sound goes away), let the car sit for 3 hr's and blamm, it come's back when i gently put pressure on the brakes, so i ask could it be a rotor problem or an axle problem......will find out next weekend when i do this job....but if ya gots some info please help....driving me nuts
