I finnaly removed the two pillars along the windshield and filled them up with weather stripping. It was 1/2 thick with adhesive on one side wich made install very easy and fast. Now I totally emilintaed all my rattles up front. Now i have to find the other squeaks in the back, should be loads of fun!

When you said fill the pillars up with weather strippings how many did you fill each one with? Is it just any weather stripping that I could get at home depot? I have some rattles in that area too and wanna get rid of them. THanks!

Did the same recently

For the longest time, I've had squeaking noise from the front pillars from my 95Max SE--with every freaking bump on the road. I finally got real sick of it to do something--plus the weather is nice now. I too used weatherstripping. Home Depot has the stuff cheap. Got some firm density as well as some soft density. Put the stuff inside the front pillars as well as where they contact the dash. Amazing difference. Like ny96maxse, there ain't nothing squeaking there at all. Also used some of the softer density weatherstripping around the center console/vents as that makes some noise as well. Here the noise has more to do with the aging plastic. Creaks when you press on it but is nicely damped on bumps. Don't have any rear rattles so that's it for me folks!

i bought the stripping at a local hardware store. it was like $4 for a roll, i bought two and used pretty much all of it. one side had adhesive and the other if just thick foam. It was about 1/4" thick by 1/2"wide black. i just lined the inside of the panel as well as the metal beam where it clips onto. I also put a piece where it meets with the daash board. It was a tight fit snapping it back on, but now NO rattles!

that rattle comes from your air bag. i just figured it out. i live in nyc so all the roads are f'ed up here. so i drove on this really f'ed road around my neighbourhood and told my fried to check where the rattle is coming from. so we figured out that the cover for the airbag is loose and when you hold on to it it doesnt squek. i dont know what is the solution to this but whenever it rattles i just bang on it and it stops squeaking. hope this helps

Yes. I took them out one day to see if they were a part of all of the racket. Weather stripping should help here too.

Don't bang too hard--you don't want that thing going off in your face!! I recommend either going to Nissan and have them service it for you, or get some highly detailed instructions on how to remove the cover and reseat it. Btw, any work you do that involves the airbags or electricals near them requires you disconnect the battery, wait 10 minutes, then remove all airbag fuses.

One other rattle effect I get is from the center console. I bought some 1/4" thick rubber insulation with adhesive backing that I'm going to line the center console panels with to eliminate it. Also may have to tinker with the connection points as well (plastic nubs fitting into metal sockets have a tendency to create noise).

First off...banging on the air bag cover will not deploy the airbag..The air bag center is located in the end of center console, mounted to the chassis underneath it. If you are going to remove the air bag cover to seach for rattles, disconnect the battery and wait at least 3 minutes.
