For people who are dropped

I know that all of you are probably tired of reading posts like this, but I'm finally ready to drop my max.
In the drop I'm looking mostly for comfort since I do a lot of driving in my car and the roads are bad around here, good handling and also get rid of that 4x4 look as much as possible.
I read that the best setup for what I'm looking for is H&R and Illuminas, but other people said that Tokico struts and springs setup is just as good but it comes out a little cheaper. I want the one that is lower because some day I might upgrade to 18s.
Also, what about Tein H-tech springs. Are those comfortable? I see that they have a bigger drop.
Of course there are famous AGXs, but they are stiff compare to Illuminas.

If you could help me with making a choice from your own experience, I would be grateful. I want this to be done right the first time.

I'm also open for other suggestions if you have any.

If you could post pics before and after of your drop, it would be great.

H&Rs + Illuminas + Ben's Extended Travel Rear Strut Mounts (http://doug.maxima.org/showthread.php?t=335520) = comfort with mild drop.

Tein H-Tech's are similar in spring rates and yield a slightly lower drop in the front. I find them to be very comfortable (w/ Illuminas) but can't compare to the H&R's directly.

You can check my Cardomain for pics of H-Tech/Illumina drop.

LoL, I was just looking at your cardomain like a minute ago.
How is the handling with that setup if I use stock 5 spokes? Did you cut your springs in the rear since they don't drop as much as the front?

Handling should be fine if you have good tires.

I didn't cut the rear springs. I wanted to make sure in the future it would sit even when I have 3 passengers in the rear and an audio system in the trunk.

Keep your 16" rims to keep the ride as smooth as possible on a lowered setup. If you plan to put on a 17" rim after you drop it, run a less agressive all season tire such as the Sumitomo HTR+. That will help keep your ride as comfy as possible.

H&R + Illuminas set on 2 all around is a very sweet ride. Drop the shocks down to their softest setting, 1 and the car rides softer then the stock setup.

So I should go with Illuminas not AGX, right?
If I drop the shocks to their softest setting, wouldn't it handle like a minivan?
And if I'll ever buy rims, they are going to be 18s

Ok, so I guess the choice is between Illuminas with H&R or Illuminas with Tokico Springs.
What setup would drop lower and also perform better?

i have a springtech(aka cms springs) 2in drop and i have them paired with the illuminas and the ride and drop is awesome...rides almost at stock comfort and the cornering is amazing... and the springtechs are probably the cheapest springs for the maxima out there $107 shipped boyyyy!

From what I understand, these setups are rather similar. I got the Tokico kit off eBay and saved a a bit of cash over the Illuminas and H&Rs. I'm happy with my ride.
