any catback exhaust is relatively quiet as long as its not a round ricey muffler. get a y-pipe and you'll be pleased. my greddy is plenty loud... maybe its just cuz people have different preferences

When I put my SP2 on it was quiet I only heard it under like 2500 RPM's after that it was all my engine and I didn't have an intake at the time. Now with the intake, Y-Pipe, and SP2 it is loud but deep. I like it most of the time.

Trust me, you should be happy you don't get too much sound out of it. If you go with Y-pipe it will be louder. However, PLEASE DON'T get rid of the resonator. My car is witout resonator 2.5" Piping and Y with a magnaflow exhaust. I'm going to install a resonator when the weather clears up a bit.......

y-pipe is your friend! I couldn't hear my OBX cat-back until the y-pipe went on.

seriously? so by saying you cant hear it, you mean the very quiet like stock until you rev above a certain rpm then you hear it more, or you still have a stock sound till that Y gets on?

never knew the Y-Pipe had such a large affect of the exhaust sound. Intersting. . .

seriously...all my friends used to laugh at me because my car was so quiet. Once I put the y-pipe on, they were all like "finally, you got an exhaust!".

Friend has a Maxima as well and all he has for exhaust are Y-Pipe and B-Pipe with some kinda aftermarket muffler, that shlts loud at 4k+ rpms
I'd rather have no noise and performance than loud freakin noise and performance.
This is the reason why I might just keep stock muffler with Y/B-Pipes.

Actually after doing a couple weeks' work of research I found out the stock exhaust manifold is good enough for performance.

I'm the opposite I'm tired of the loud noise coming out of the y-pipe, I have the stillen y-pipe. I'm going back to stock or get another type of y-pipe. Trust me you want a quiet exhaust. It gets very annoying after a while.

not only that Broward county police are ******, when they hear a loud muffler they'll ride that person's *** just to scare the drivers.

I have cattman headers, Greddy SP2, and and Magnaflow MS cat. I was worried it would be to loud with what i have read, but accually it is still quiet. You can hear the exhaust but it is never loud. I am the type of person who does not want to draw a lot of attension to their car and my setup does not. I have recieved nothing but compliments. I compaired my car side by side with a 350z about 2 months after installing the exhaust setup. I would say the Z was just a bit quieter, but not much, also you could hear a very small bit of difference in tone, the Z was a little deeper sounding. In my experience my setup is much quieter than a civic with mugan headers, Random cat and Greddy Evo, quieter than a stock 3000GT, and quieter than any car with a cheap autozone muffler.
